Conan the Barbarian wasn't a bad game but it didn't fare well on the sales charts.
Even so, you can't keep a good warrior down. Not only did the Cimmerian legend land his own MMO back in 2008 – Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures – but it seems we're in for another traditional adventure. This according to Paradox Entertainment , who has reported they're working on a new "Conan" installment. We don't have much in the way of concrete information and they can only say it'll show up "eventually," but at least we know it's in the works. Provided they build upon the foundation established in the 2007 title and add a fair amount of technical polish, it should be well worth the cost of admission. Of course, Conan has been entertaining action-loving audiences since Arnold Schwarzenegger beat the tar out of many a foe in 1982's "Conan the Barbarian." Also, you should probably know that actor Jason Momoa will take on the role in a new movie set to hit theaters next year; that one might be pretty intense. …and you can bet both the game and movie will be bloody as hell.
Still, the action genre is plenty competitive these days, so Paradox needs to put their best foot forward. Cross your fingers.
the 07 game was not bad. it will never be god of war of even Dante or Horsemen, but it was good. the game did need polish but the fundamental game play was good. in some way it reminded me of a bloody golden ax minus the magic. i like the direction hoping they can base a good game off of it. 🙂
Conan remake, really? Why not have Arnold return, and finish off the trilogy? He's got nothing to do, besides the whole California governor thing.
Not a remake. New film based on the same character.
Why do I get the feeling that this is more to cash in on the movie than to be a stand alone product? Oh… because it will be. And I get the feeling that it will follow the lead of Clash of the Titans. Simply not good.
Peace.
P.S.: "The governator is the only one that can stop the Wikileaks." – How Green Was My Cactus. Absolutely brilliant radio show.
MISINFORMATION.
Conan has been entertaining audiences since December, 1932, when he appeared in The Phoenix on the Sword, the first time Robert E. Howard wrote the character. Not when Arnold starred as the Cimmerian.
i played the game back in 2007, but i diddnt really get into it. i think i was expecting something better since it was only a week before i got a ps3.
The game is 8 dollars everywhere im gonna try it.And dont u think Arnold is too old for it?
I bought the 2007 Conan game and it wasn't bad but I ran into a glitch that would freeze the game every time I beat the end boss. I didn't feel like playing through it again, so I traded it in. After the ordeal with the last game I think I'm going to skip this one even though I'm a fan of anything Conan 🙁
I rented the 2007 Conan along with Too Human and they were both big disappointments, Too Human being the biggest disappointment of the 2 considering all the hype it had, but it did have allot of potential….well Conan was 1 of those games that wasn't a great game but it worked 4 for when you're just bored and have nothing else too do.
I agree conan wasn't a bad game by any means but it did need some work. I beat it and enjoyed it.
