We've seen several minutes of awesome gameplay footage, but the info for Sucker Punch's hotly anticipated sequel, inFamous 2 , has been running thin as of late.
Thankfully, the holiday issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine has one of our most anticipated games on the cover, and the feature inside is loaded with details . The article features a map that shows part of New Marais, with 6 separate locations identified, that cattle-prod weapon is called the Amp (which we already knew back around E3), the nasties that infest Cole's new city are known as "The Corrupted," and that good/evil system will return. Firstly, how you played the first game will factor into the second as inFamous 2 will detect your save info and secondly, there's at least one choice in the sequel that, after you make it, will take you down one particular path. This sort of implies there will be a reason to go through the campaign again… Also, don't forget about the collectibles: a new character named Dr. Sebastian Wolfe wants the Blast Cores that are scattered around New Marais; collect them, bring 'em to the good doctor, and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
You'll probably want to pick up this issue; it also features plenty of great quotes from many Sucker Punch employees. We can't wait for inFamous 2 and we're not the only ones.

I am soo buying this game day 1. I really hope they make this like the difference between uncharted 1 to uncharted 2.
Only graphics u mean!Story and gameplay are awesome!
i agree, i hope infamous 2 is to infamous what unchrtd2 is to uncharted.
both uncharteds are awesome… and i even prefer the first, but Naughty Dog, if you're reading this, Uncharted 2 is soo incredibly brilliant… i cant even put into words how much i love it.
bit keen yes, but everyones allowed a favourite no?
I was kinda hoping PSXE would cover this just so I could repeat the awesomeness of this franchise. I'm soooo glad "New Cole" is gone too, that douche would have ruined the whole friggin franchise. I noticed Highlander playing it and got the urge so I kept on with a few more evil missions in this second playthrough but I hope they let me select my hero save, cuz I wanna do that first.
Glad the good/evil decisions are advancing in complexity so as to further alter the experience accordingly.
Its true that I prefer the serious looking Cole too.
But I wish they didn't keep the kiddy getup. It is weird now that they put back his serious head but still wearing that T-Shirt. I preferred the cool jacket. Could also have made some nice wind effects with it unzipped lol.
I like the old outfit too, but at least they added back in the yellow as his trademark, and well it would be hot in that city. (New Orleans ripoff)
I wonder which of my two end game saves it will detect. Or maybe we'll get to choose which one to use?
Whatever it does, this game sounds great. Very glad to have confirmation that good/evil is back in full form.
I too hope that, if we have both a good and evil save, that we can choose between the two. Although I don't know which one to pick…
Peace.
Too bad my save files were on my broken 60gb PS3.
What's a Marais anyway? We've got Grand Marais here in Minnesota (Friggin cold right now too) but no clue what that's supposeda mean.
im pretty pissed off ur city couldn't beat Green Bay for my Bears sir
I'm fairly upset myself.
Infamous Series has a superb story combined with awesome gameplay and if you improve the graphics and it will be the best superhero sandbox game ever made!
Cole is back to his old self!

Infamous 2 Scans are available in this link.
There's a swamp! (right!?)
Sick scans, thanks
You're welcome
This is one of those games that I want to hear nothing about until I buy it day one. Any sort of news will somehow ruin the experience, but I just couldn't resist clicking on this article.
AWESOME SINCE MY PS3 SHIT THE BED A WHILE BACK ILL HAVE 0 save data to continue with
play it again sam.
That's a misquote from one of the best movies EVER. But I'm with World. Play it again. I plan to do so just before the release of the second in order to re-Platinum it. Oh yes, I like inFamous so much that it is going double platinum…
There should be a double plat trophy, but then you couldn't get it without first getting the plat, which means you were done, but then… its a paradox!
This Cole is so much better… thank god they reconsidered.
It really looks and sounds like this game will be one of the biggest games of next year. Could easily sneak into the GOTY group.
over a few Gears of War fan's dead bodies of course.
speaking of gears of war. It got delayed till fall lol.
its not delayed because it needs work, it was delayed so MS could have a heavy hitter in the fall. kinda lame they did that for those who were looking forward to it in the spring
When Sucker Punch said they wanna be on the same level as Naughty Dog they wasn't kidding "InFamous 2" is sounding better each time they drop some new info. But here comes a stupid question when they said it will pick up your saved info does it mean all the powers(including the blades from last year's DLC) you upgraded in the first one carry over too?
Or will it be like other sequels to games you start off as Cole all max out and the main villain knocks him back to earth and you have to build him back up?
I get the feeling that it'll be the latter, as apparently you get dominated by The Beast at the start of the game, and Cole flees Empire City to go to New Marais. But then, SP have mentioned that you will have all of the powers of the old game as soon as you start the new one, and you will build upon them, so… until someone plays it we probably won't know for certain.
Peace.
I'm REALLY tired of that old cheap trick of taking all your powers (looking at you God of War) but at the same time it's no fun to play as a God from the very beginning (looking at you Prototype). So, what can ya do?
Give you all the powers of the first game, and make the enemies two thousand times stronger?
First: What are the Blast Shards doing in New Marais and how in the hell did they get there?
And that choice you mentioned makes it seem almost as if this will have Heavy Rain levels of replayability. Oh god, I hope that there are only a few select choices, and each one has vastly varying outcomes, when combined with the previous ones. That would be downright mindblowing. Is anyone else reminded a little bit of Mass Effect based on what we're hearing about this?
Doesn't matter. inFamous 2 will be one of the best games of next year. I'm calling it now.
Peace.
Dr. Sebastian Wolfe is a scientist in New Marais who worked on the Raysphere project. I guess he lost some parts of his sh*t or something. I guess they will explain more later.
"We'll have more to worry about than just overgrown lawns & hungry mosquitoes"
Yup, that's all I need to know!!!!!!
DAM!
lost both my good and evil saves when my ps3 went belly up.
oh well, still got a while till this releases so i have plenty time to built them up again.
tis what you get for not backing up your HDD, and for relying on sony to actually make something that works…… BIG MISTAKE!
only had my Z series TV just over a year, and last night that went belly up too!
3 thousand dollars down the drain!!!!!!
cant wait to see what the combat is like, i hope they have not let the superpowers take a backseat in favor of the cattle prod.
the powers is what made infamous so much fun, flinging a enemy in the air, sticking a grenade too him, frying him with electricity than hurling him towards another enemy.
so much better than striking him with a electrified metal pole!
hope they have more boss battles too, infamous had the best boss battles they were so unique and forced you to use your environment instead of the usual dodge the swinging arm attack almost every boss has used since the beginning of time!
most overused attack ever!!!!!!!!

I'm currently on my 2nd playthrough (now as evil Cole) of inFamous, and its a blast! Unfortunately I´m not going to platinum it because collecting all of those blast shards is pretty boring. And having Sucker Punch and Naughty Dog developing exclusives for the PS3, is well, effing awesome! Hope they keep their promise to make that quality leap for this sequel as ND did, making this IP even greater. Just correct the few flaws and keep/improve what is good and its a masterpiece.
Blast Shards! Collecting all of those was one of the things that made me really like the game. It gave the player a chance to take in the scenery. Glad that they are coming back. But now I'm going to refrain from looking at any more previews so I don't spoil myself before the game comes out.
This sounds amazing, can't wait. there are two things that would make it purly epic. The return of Sasha(one of my favorite characters) and a Uncharted caliber conduit on conduit multiplyer. That my dear friends would be shear epicness.
WOW! I'm really missing out I have yet to play the first one. Guess I better start saving .
