Mass Effect 2 will finally come to the PlayStation 3 with a bunch of extra content in January, so it seems almost inevitable that Mass Effect 3 will also be available for the PS3…and hopefully, at the same time as other versions.
BioWare and EA haven't confirmed anything just yet, but ME3 for the PS3 may have been outed by SCEE Russia. According to Ripten citing a recent Tweet, BioWare will provide fans with a teaser trailer of the upcoming third installment at this year's Spike VGA Awards, which takes place on December 11. The rough translation from Russian is as follows:
"“Company BioWare for VideoGameAwards showed a teaser, in which we can see the first footage MassEffect 3."
There's no mention of platforms but as SCEE Russia makes the comment, one would have to make the obvious assumption. This is in addition to BioWare boss Ray Muzyka saying that ME3 on PS3 "makes sense" and of course, the common trend of third-party exclusives going multiplatform this generation. BioWare has already worked on the PS3; they gave us Dragon Age: Origins and the sequel will also be releasing for the PS3, 360 and PC next year as well. Finally, the RPG maker stated several times that they would continue to work with Sony's machine, so ME3 on PS3 really does seem inevitable.
If you don't plan on watching the Awards – and you might not – we'll try to get that teaser up on here.
Looking forward to the next chapter of this series. But right now, I'm more curious to find out what this mystery game is that they've been releasing clues about in the last week or so. Just guessing that it's possibly being called Cold Iron or some such right now due to the images they've released. But the last image is linked to the SIS website. Interesting.
Making the first one exclusive is a mistake BioWare must kick themselves over almost every day. How do you pull in PS3 users with only parts 2 and 3?
Everyone who had their 360 melt down on them when they played the first one can now enjoy the next 2 on the PS3… I'm also thinking the same thing though. I might think of getting into this series if they release a ME collection or something, but I probably won't pick up 2 and start out. But you never know, we are all crying for some decent RPG's this gen. Maybe this can help fill the void.
They have stated in the past that they love developing on the PC and that they will remain there. They mentioned this in an interview way back in June: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=253256
They like the console scene as well but they won't use it as a lead platform for their games. Especially the RPG's. And if you look through their history, just about all of their games have been exclusive. Primarily to PC only, but they are branching out more in the last 2 years or so.

That's an interesting take on the whole situation there Wreckless_4485. I hadn't thought of that.
@Wreckless_4495
True that those came out on consoles first. But the PC versions were also being worked on at the same time. And if you compare the console editions to the PC editions, the console versions are the lesser versions due to less content of the two. Consoles received their versions first, but Bioware released the full vision of the game on PC later. And of the 15 full fledged releases they have made, not counting handhelds, 5 have been released on console first. So as I said before, most of their games are exclusive primarily on PC.
We will "play" through Part 1 by reading the comic and making key decisions in it.
Yeah, and that sucks.
This is rumored to be a multiplayer game from ME universe. I read it here:

Since the first 'Mass Effect' originally released on only 360, then expanded to PC, and the sequel released on 360 and PC, with a forthcoming expansion to PS3, having all three versions of the finale to this trilogy release at the same time seems only logical.
i just beat the first mass effect and now playing the second one. it's one of the best games series this generation, and by far the best on the 360.
Wow, I recieve a thumbs down by someone who hasn't even played the game, smh.
But it's ok because you thumbed yourself up, so it cancels out…
You can thumb yourself up?
Try it.
I can…
wow, who knew?
BTW this series does need the first game to fully understand it. They may need to add some type of DLC so people can understand the story.
prequel decision making comic is already included
well i guess that makes sense. i hope it's enough though.
One of the Great titles of this year. This game on ps3 will rock out on the ps3!
yeah the game is very good, imagine if it were exclusive, it would be unbelieveable.
I read somewhere that you will be able to experience Mass Effect one through interactive comic. I also read that the important decisions you make during the first one might be added to the comic. Both games we're very enjoyable and they plan on adding a unique way for you to experience the story so that you are only missing the small side quest decisions.
I thought we already knew ME3 was coming to PS3? ..I need to pay more attention to games I don't pay attention to >_<
They wont say its for sure coming to PS3 in case they can get money out of MS for a timed exclusive.
Its good to be a PS3 gamer at the moment. Mass Effect 2 should be great fun and a great for the collection.
Q!
"play.experience.enjoy"
Both Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 were games I found incredibly enjoyable. The move to PS3 will ensure that a wider audience will be able to enjoy the wonderful universe that Bioware created for this series.
Having said that, I am curious as to find out what the new IP Bioware will tease at the VGAs will be.
poor sony they cant keep anything from leaking can they?
i wont be surprised if it is ME3, but i hope its not, hopefully its a whole new IP.
