See, we need Kevin Butler to advertise anything even remotely cool for the PlayStation 3. Then we're happy.
With Gran Turismo 5 slated to make quite the enormous splash next week, you'll start seeing ads and commercials all over the place. Our favorite has got to be the Butler-driven commercial that, while not long, is still pretty damn hilarious. This ranks right up there with the Uncharted 2 ad ("yeah, I'm going to file this under, 'not a problem'") and the Move commercial (where he ends up dressed as a Viking).
The GT5 commercial you might start seeing on your favorite channels is below; the end is freakin' perfect.
Of course, those who have already planned to buy the game don't need a commercial to entice them, but it's nice to see some advertising dollars tossed in Gran Turismo 's direction. After all, with so much time and money invested into the project, it's gonna have to hit big for it to be considered a rip-roaring success…
Related Game(s): Gran Turismo 5
Quite honestly, the BEST commercial I have seen.
All Sony needs is KB, GT5 is for sure gonna sell
Oh, yes, just what we need a poster who wants to pull a superiority complex and then hurl insults. Why don't you just ask to be banned? It would be quicker.
What's wrong with Tits?
@Clamedeus
Nothing, when they come in a pair and are attached to a soft, warm and shapely body with a pretty face and a personality to match.
However, when a tit is on it's own, hurled as an immature insult by some Internet frat boy with ego issues, that's when a tit is not so wonderful.
@TheHighlander
I know what he meant by it, i was just being a smart ass. 😀
@Chubby,
You're the one hurling insults. And patronizing the OP by telling him to 'calm down mate'. All I'm doing it pointing that out, and describing your conduct accurately.
Highlander doesn't mean he's pulling a superiority complex. Areas that are mountainous or just have high land are referred to as "highlands." There's such a place in Scotland, which is why some of the Scottish refer to each other as "highlanders."
Has nothing to do with ego.
Also, I'd like to point out that ChubbyWilly100, you're being an all-around obnoxious twit for no reason at all, and TheHighlander, you're foolishly wasting time and screen space on an all-around obnoxious twit. Let morons be morons and enjoy the commercial like you're supposed to. ChubbyWilly100 can stand on the other side of the fence and call us names where he's not blocking the TV screen.
@LupeOneLeo
INdeed, you are correct, I'm usually better at avoiding arguments with the Eye of Moron, and weakened for a moment.
I would, I have, and I'm not. That doesn't even make sense. Go back to your bridge now, troll.
notice…
"Mr. Butler is a professional driver on a closed course. Do not attempt."
LOL 🙂
VP of Add More Awesome…
'nuff said.
lol lol lol all the parking signs say "kevin butler".
Well, he is the VP of Add More Awesome, it's an important and impressive role. He must need lots of cars to carry out such an important role, and they have to be parked somewhere.
Lol lol you have a point lol. i love KB.
"they said they needed the test cars back i said muhahaha."

the laugh gets me every time. love it.
These PS commercials always have me dieing! but this one is by far the funniest I have seen so far! it makes me want to buy the game, to bad I suck at the bulk of racing games.
Dude, I am not too good at racing games either. We can form a race team called "Mediocrity"
I'll join! 😀
-Arvis
Mediocrity, that's got a nice ring to it, I like it! lol.
Guess I'll have to start my own group called "suck"
PlayStation 3

Maniacal Laughter In The Distance……
epic lolasaurus 😀
i saw this on the psblog a few days ago. love that they got this guy. best move ever, well besides makeing the PS3 of course!!
His commercials are great!
I can't believe the graphics on that game!!! :-O
Hilarious…..right down to the fine print!
My coworker is frothing at the mouth over this game. He's taking next thursday and friday off of work. In fact he's so panicked about the game selling out that he told me he'll buy two copies if he can find them. Then looked at me and said "we'll settle later."
I think he's planning on buying a copy for me and I'm a little scared.

has no one ever heard of pre ordering
…I can't see being that insane over a game.
Wait…
…maybe if it was a FFVII remake or FFT2.
You know how those smokers are, living from paycheck to paycheck.
No serious, I think pre-ordering it would take the fun out of him buying it. It's like the thrill of the hunt for some people.
He's not a gamer like us. All he wants is GT5. Nothing else. Bought his PS3 two years ago in anticipation of its launch. Had to settle for NSF Shift the poor bas.. uh, guy.
It's gotten to the point where I feel bad for the guy. It's like witnessing the birth of a new gamer.
"He's taking next thursday and friday off of work."
Did anyone tell him that that's Thanksgiving and he should be getting it off anyways?

EDIT: Ben Dutka, again, speaking my thoughts for me. 🙂

I think Alienage is Canadian. Canadians are tricky in that they look like us Americans but they don't have souls, instead they have a mechanical mechanism that gives them super human balance on ice skates and an unheard of ability to control a puck. No room for the giving of thanks in their insides.
I love hockey and think Canadians are cool people for the most part, the following message has been fully in jest and is not meant to offend the sensibilities of any Northern viewing audiences.
I understand the dude, there is a certain tingle when you go to the store on release day, but it quickly turns to a twinge if that rack is empty.
I am Canadian, and I approve Coverton's satire.
coverton341 is right. We have Thanksgiving earlier here so that we can prepare for hockey season.
And the "no souls" part was cool.
I have two words that for a very small group of Burnout Paradise enthusiasts will deliver a smile.
Canada Denied!
+12trillion for anyone who knows the reference, and explanations will follow tomorrow, for those that don't…
I'm an American living in Canada and I can confirm the soulless part.
At least that was true of my ex-girlfriend.
Dang it!
I was wondering if I was being America-centric again. 🙁
Sorry, Alienange.
-Arvis
@Highlander
Actually I had more of a chuckle than a smile!
"Canada Denied" is a reference to a Criterion Games home page picture and headline that denied Canadians their own local leader board for racers in Burnout Paradise.
Another Canadian here and Coverton, that was pretty damn funny I gotta say. Gave me a good laugh.
@Alienage that coworker of yours is a bit crazy I'd say.

He's a good guy SixSpeedKing. He's just really enthusiastic about GT. Can you blame him?
@ Coverton,
I too am Canadian and wanted to laugh at your comment but being without a soul prevents me from any true emotion lol.
It's funny, being a border officer I hear all of the stereotypes about Canadians that my American travellers believe and I see the genesis of many of the stereotypes of Americans….the job is paid entertainment for sure 🙂
Back on topic, I can't wait for GT5 and this commercial is great.
Simcoe,
+12trillion for you!
Also you have my thanks for being one of the few others left that remember the 'good old days'.
BTW, do you frequent Rogue Burners at all? There's a lot of familiar faces there.
the kb campaign has been nothing short of excellent.
If they don't re-sign the team behind this campaign, it's a confirmation that the folks in charge are completely insane.
It's probably the best marketing that Sony has done since the PS1 days. Hell, it might be the best marketing they have ever done if I'm to be honest.
There are two new ads up on the PS Blog today, both awesome.
"She smells like strawberries."
Kb is awesome. I'm not a huge fan of racing games, but this looks sick. The graphics look insane.and I agree with ben to a point. Icould see getting super stoked about a game if itwas an ff…viii remake.
