L.A. Noire remains shrouded in mystery but perhaps by week's end, we'll have more info and – dare we hope? – a release date.
Rockstar has often confirmed and reconfirmed that developer Team Bondi continues to slave away on L.A. Noire . Originally exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and now a multiplatform project (as far as we know), the game is an ambitious crime drama that makes us hope for a cross between Mafia and Heavy Rain . We only say the latter because of that very cool interrogation element and the supposedly cutting-edge Motion Scan for characters. But after hearing it would arrive later in 2010, the game currently holds an estimated launch date of "Q2 2011" and we're getting a tad impatient… Have no fear, though, as Rockstar has announced that a new trailer for the long-anticipated title will hit this week! As of Thursday, the video will debut at the Rockstar Newswire, and then will be viewable in high-definition at "an updated L.A. Noire site and the Videos section of the Rockstar Games site." Okay, so it's definitely coming. They've promised us that.
But there's only one thing we want from that trailer: actual gameplay footage. We're not entirely sure how long the game has been in development, but perhaps "too long" is a fair assessment. At the same time, we're very intrigued by the game's potential…

A gameplay trailer would be great. Hearing about a game for years only to be given a short cgi is ridiculous. All eyes are on you Rockstar. Don't go pulling a SE.
Rockstar never show gameplay. BUT, they show in game graphics….
Meh after all this years a second trailer? game never gonna get released, they should drop it and focus all their might on Agent.

Eh, no. Team Bondi is a third party dev. They realistically have nothing whatsoever to do with Agent.
Peace.
Oh my, great news. Man, I remember hearing way back when that this was going to be an exclusive, funded by Sony. Damn we've come a long way. If this is true, I will officially feel free to mark out. This is one of the games that I've been waiting for the most.
Peace.
Can't wait! Make sure to link to it Thursday! I just hope it isn't a GTA clone.
This game has always interested me, and Q2 of next year would be a good time. Rockstar is getting to be one of the rare developers who make games that are A) finished and B) more than 5 hours long.
Yeah wtf happened to agent too? They better just get this game over with and start with agent or gtv
Finally, some news!
Can't wait to see at least a tidbit of what they've done with it so far.
I always get suspicious when things are taking "too long". I suspect that means that the project has either been put on hold for a while (with the obvious question "why?") or has come to a turning point where it had to change direction requiring additional development time.
Neither is good news.
cant freaking wait for this!
the fact that its being made literally minutes away from my doorstep does not help either!
better graphics than GOW3, the worlds most advanced animation system, what more could you ask for?
as long as the detective part stands up, we might have a new contender for GOTY!
as much as im looking forward to this, and want new info on it i would much rather info on agent!
or at least max payne 3.
only R* could announce 3 games in the space of a year or so, and release no info on either of them for ages!
i thought you were suppose to announce a game, shot it off than announce a new one.
not announce a game, announce a new game, announce a new game than maybe show one of them off.
who the hell do they thing they are?
$E?
