Castlevania, MGS4 Featured In PS3 Bundle For Japan

Man, Japan gets all the coolest bundles.

According to Andriasang , Konami has confirmed a special PlayStation 3 bundle, scheduled to arrive in Japan in December. The Castlevania: Lords of Shadow value pack will feature a Charcoal Black 160GB PS3, a copy of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow , and the Best Budget (Greatest Hit) version of Konami's other classic, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots . It'll launch on December 16 and carry of price tag of 37,980 yen so if some Japanese gamers are a little behind this generation, they can start by catching up with MGS4. Oh, and purchasers will also land 20,000 Reward Points for use in Metal Gear Online , which will be included with MGS4. This is the kind of package that should appeal to anyone who has yet to pick up the PS3; in our estimation, MGS4 is one of the top two titles of the generation (the other being Uncharted 2: Among Thieves ).

Will the bundle come here to the US? Eh, probably not. But one can always hope, right?

Japan really does get all the coolest stuff. I'm gonna start a hostess bar here in Minnesota.

Kojima loves Playstation. Im really liking Castlevania. Not a perfect game but its a lot better than most are giving it credit for.

Yep, I think it's great. I have every intention of doing a long form user-review after I beat the game on my first play through.

Mine will go up sometime this weekend. Just have to sit myself down to do it. Also, my Force Unleashed 2 review will also go up, for those who are interested. I'm having loads of fun with it, too. Too many games aren't getting the credit they deserve this generation. I'm not compaining though, because that certainly is enough indication of great this gen is!

Cool, Master Shams, I look forward to it.

And it looks like SW:FU2 got a low IGN score. BUt if it's anything like their negatively tainted Castlvevania review that generalizes and dismisses too much, it's probably not a good representation of a dedicated gamers values.

The force is strong with you, Sensei Temjin. All but a few ign staff deliver wildly skewed and biased reviews. Chris Roper (when he was with IGN), Greg Miller, and Ryan Clements are notable exceptions.

My criteria for a quality game is quite simple. If it keeps me geeked-out with a smile plastered on my face, it won't lose too many points.

That's $467, seems rather expensive when you can buy all three separate for under $400. I mean it's not like there is anything special about the PS3 used in the bundle.

Good deal but i think theres no point selling it in Japan. All of them probably got MGS4 already. Unless they want another copy? lol

Japan does get all the good stuff. i have a Ps3 and already preorered the GT5 c.e. but if the GT5 bundle came out in the US I would of got it. Nice blue PS3 with GT5, yea!
You know sony if you give us the same deals you do in japan they will sell here. I would have multiple PS3s now.

off topic
Hey If you check out the scinks web site, yes the shaving brand. they have sweepstakes and codes you get off their products. You can win a copy of GT5, a PS3 and the grand prize a 3D HDTV.
and it says "GT5, coming exclusively to the PS3 soon" 'Soon" that means it is coming "soon" so maybe it won't be a later release then expecting.
But i guess that can mean anything knowing that games that won't be coming out until mid of next year saying coming soon.
But their on their products now so wouldn't that mean it will be released soon.
it's on the home page at gran-turismo com

Lords of Shadows is badass. It's the true 3D evolution of Castlevania.

Bet it's doing well in Japan.
Great bundle.

I hope so. i want to see more of these Castlevania games. They should contact Sony Santa Monica for some pointers. There are times when this game looks absolutely gorgeous then some flicker ruins the scenery.

I notice you playing Castle a lot Jawk, have you beat it yet? I think I'm going to try to hold off and put it on my xmas list. There really isn't anything else I need to play this year and New Vegas (while not as great as F3) is really addicting and should keep me rolling a long time.

Not yet. It's a pretty long game. I'm on chapter 6 out of 12 and i think i have been playing for over 10 hours now.

Sweet. I love a long campaign in an action adventure. I'm trying to get in some Symphony on my PSP when I can. Believe it or not I've never beat that game.

Me either. I just started playing it recently but have put it down since i got LoS.

Too bad you didn't get your PSP earlier. Symphony of the Night was on sale not that long ago under the 15 Years of Playstation section on PSN. I picked it up for $4.99.
