Ben-DutkaAssassin's Creed: Brotherhood will arrive almost exactly one year after Assassin's Creed II , but the one-year gap between installments may or may not continue.
This past summer, Ubisoft associate producer Jean-Francois Boivin said Assassin's Creed III would not release in 2011 but now, Ubisoft senior international brand manager Eric Gallant said that was merely "personal opinion." Speaking to CVG , Gallant said that "details of everything related to the future of [ Assassin's Creed ] aren't known by everyone" and "not everyone is in the loop."
"There are a group of people making plans at a higher level of the organisation – they are the ones that make the decision about where we are going. There are things we are working on but I can't talk about it. That was misleading information, it was more of an expression of personal opinion, or observation."
You needn't worry about Ubisoft abandoning the franchise, though; that'd be just plain silly. With 19 million copies sold between the first two installments and higher Brotherhood pre-orders in comparison to either of those previous titles, AC is a huge money-maker for the publisher. And hey, we love it, too. As Gallant finished, "…we're always thinking about new ways of keeping our fans excited and into the brand, so there could be surprises…"
Brotherhood should be awesome but can it top the brilliance of ACII…?
