You've met one of the bands that will contribute music to the game, now how about going for a spin?
Criterion Games and EA have announced the Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit demo…for the UK, at least. The European press release says the sample will go up on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace tomorrow, October 26, and gamers can try the community-based Autolog and one portion of the game. You'll assume the role of a cop and chase speeders in the Dark Horse Hot Pursuit event, which takes place along the breathtaking ridges of Seacrest County. The Autolog will track cop and racer performances and those stats can be used to compare with the performances of your friends. Downloading the demo will also net you 500 bounty award points for use in the full game. Concerning the nifty Autolog feature, here's what Matt Webster, Criterion Producer, had to say:
"Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is blowing the roof off social competition and bringing excitement back to the racing genre. We’re putting players and their friends at the heart of the gameplay experience by automatically tracking and comparing each person’s performances. This demo will give gamers a snapshot of Need for Speed Autolog and how we’re amping up the energy of intense pursuits, competitive racing and online connected play – nothing is more powerful than beating your friends."
The game is set to launch on November 19 and we're definitely expecting a very special, very fulfilling arcade-type racing experience. Remember, this press release is only for the UK, but we'd like to think the same demo will arrive in the US as well, possibly at the same time (tomorrow). We'll just have to wait and see for now. Can't wait to race!

Can't wait to get into this with Deadman, Ch1N00k, CharlesD and Mac and Chedison! Thats the crew right there…gonna be hours going into this!!!
Oh yea, I'm definitely getting this one. And if it's half the fun that we had online with Burnout, I can see this one staying in the PS3 for a while.
Girlfriend won't be to happy though….
Tell me about it! I have a lot of faith in this title's awesomeness!
My UK-PSN account is hot 'n ready.
I also look forward to doing a 360 vs PS3 comparison. Though, LoS is eating up so much of my game time I may just let the Digital Foundry do it.
Excellent, I'll have to crank up my UK PSN account…
Wait, I have the game releasing on November 16, here, in the U.S. What gives?

I thought games are typically released on Tuesdays in the US. Why the confusion?
Nov. 16 in the US; Nov. 19 in the UK. I think.
