DLC Codes For New Vegas PS3 Not Functional

First, we learn the initial batch of DLC will be a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360 version and now, we see the PS3 version has other DLC-related issues.

Fallout: New Vegas is one of the most anticipated games of the year for role-playing aficionados; it should be another fantastic installment after the previous gem, Fallout 3 . But you know how you often receive a DLC code for free content when you pre-order a game? Well, that was the case with New Vegas , but it seems those who pre-ordered the PS3 version have codes that don't work. Developer Obsidian has issued an update via their Twitter page :

"For those trying to get the PS3 digital content codes to work, we’re working with Sony to resolve the issue. Should have an update soon."

Unfortunately, it just seems that when it comes to this series, it's best played on either the PC or 360, while PS3 owners end up holding the short end of the stick. Still, we're hoping the game itself runs equally well on all platforms, so RPG aficionados can have a quality experience regardless of platform preference. You'll see our review at some point but bear in mind that it's quite a long game…we'll do the best we can.

Steam is fantastic. I seem to get at least one title from them each week. Between them and GOG.com, pretty much all my PC gaming needs are covered.

Hey LV,
You forget that the site, "Great Old Games" GOG(dot)com I sent you, has all of the older games for the PC???
Plus they're much cheaper too, as any D/L there, is either $5.99 or $9.99).
Another plus is that most of their games come with a ton of free bonus material or other game related goodies too…

Bonus content included for FREE with the game:
manual (124 pages), Fallout series wallpaper, HD wallpaper, reference card, Fallout Bible (205 pages), soundtrack,
5 Vault Boy avatars, 18 avatars, 5 artworks

Fallout 2

Ok cool, how long does it roughly take to download or is this all depending on my computer and connection?

You're welcome Mell. I honestly buy every PC game off Steam if possible. As far as download time it depends on your ISP. I generally download off Steam at a rate close 1.2mb per second.

I think I definitely will, had no idea how easy this would be compared actually looking for it at various stores. You're awesome.

The game doesnt run equally on all platforms. Sadly it can run 1080p on xbox and only 720p on ps3. But i dont really care though. Its not like it ruins the fun of the game.

I'll be waiting to buy this when it's cheaper. I had Fallout 3 since day one and just finally got around to playing and beating it a month ago. Also hope this isn't as buggy. I sure did get tired of the freezing.

Fallout 3 was sour apples. This sounds like a right c*ck-up (NO LV!), and I really don't trust the developers, nor Bethesda after the glitch-plagued Oblivion and FO3. I'll wait for a GotY Edition, as I did with the previous incarnation, and hopefully it isn't as buggy.
Peace.

so, so, so disappointed by this!
fallout 3 was my favorite game when it released, the bugs were the only thing stopping it from getting GOTY.
looks like they have not learned a thing.
thats it im swearing off obsidian games for good, im sick of them being lazy a$$ selfish wankers!
honestly, how hard is it to debug your game?
if you cant be bothered debugging it, i cant be bothered buying it!

so far, 7 hours into the game, not one bug. im enjoying it so far. IGN UK said something along the lines of it having more in common with Fallout 1 and 2 than 3 ever did, im hoping its true

Seems as if it runs smoother than FO3 so far

Great to hear. And the game is straight from the disk, no patches yet?

Similar experiences for me as well. There is some slow down pauses here and there, but it's nothing that could be considered game breaking.

yeah, straight from the disk, no patches yet. Im not saying there aren't any bugs, just that i haven't come across any yet. It does stop briefly here and there when going into new areas, but only for a second and its not very often.

No where near the buggy mess that FO3 gOTY version was for ps3

The code worked fine (last night). It just gives you some preliminary stuff to start the game with (it also applies to your current save game if you already started playing the game). It includes 5 stimpaks, light armor, another weapon, and other stuff that I don't remember.
