Today, THQ has announced that it has extended its exclusive agreement with Zuffa, LLC to publish games based on the Ultimate Fighting Championship (R) (UFC(R)). THQ will now be able to release UFC titles through 2018. The rights allow them to target all current and next-gen consoles, as well as the PC, handheld platforms, and online and downloadable venues. Said THQ Executive Vice President of Core Games, Danny Bilson:
"We're very excited to extend our relationship with Zuffa and the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Working closely together with Dana White and the incredible team at UFC, we plan to continue to deliver outstanding interactive UFC experiences to gamers around the world in all new ways, including social, mobile and brand extensions."
UFC president Dana White followed by saying that "THQ has delivered the quality demanded by UFC and its fans with the first two Undisputed games and we are about to broaden the UFC brand experience among gaming fans through social and mobile apps." The Undisputed titles have certainly been great for the fans, as the level of detail and depth has proven to be much appreciated. It's a bit more technical than your standard fighting game, and it's certainly more brutal and authentic than any wrestling game.
So anyway, expect to see more UFC installments from THQ for the next 8 years. Are you excited?

You were smart waiting for New Vegas. I've heard it's full of bugs, like bugs that ruin the gaming experience and repeatedly crash systems. Consoles haven't exactly caught up to PCs when it comes to the bug thing, I'm getting it for PC like I did with Fallout3.

@Underdog15: yep if you brought new you get the online one time use pass code on the back of the manual if you brought it used you have to pay to use the online mode.
@LimitedVertigo: told you so. I'm glad i waited i won't brother till the Game of the year edition. i'm just now thinking about getting Fallout 3 GOTY probably by the end of the month when i get WWE and the sims 3 anlong with others i plan to buy.
I don't have it yet so I can't say, everyone said Fallout 3 was full of bugs on PS3 and it was a huge horrible mess. It had some comical bugs and the game only crashed on me a couple times, it was well worth those issues though. If New Vegas can give me half the boner F3 did I'll be pleased.

I may come off like a pu*** but I've never understood why 2 men with no "beef" between the 2 of them would want to punch the hell out of each other. I prefer MK or SF to this stuff.

While the sport does have it's fair share of animals who are in the ring specifically for that purpose, there are gentleman who are in it as well, who won't bloody or ko an opponent, when a clean submission will do. My personal favorite is Fedor Emelianenko, though he's with Strike Force currently, and not the UFC.
It's a sport that surprisingly no more risky than boxing or even football, due to the shorter lengths of the fights (at most 3 rounds 15 min each) and the stringent regulations governed by state-wide commissions in the same way boxing is.
Well, possibly 4 rounds, if a tie-breaker is needed, if i'm not mistaken.
Not surprised over this decision either. EA created a monster when they signed the deal with the NFL.
