Okay, we've seen enough horrifically erotic videos for the game; how's about some concrete details?
Well, Atlus continues to promote their ambitious new project, Catherine , through the Japanese press. The latest edition of Famitsu offers a bunch of fresh info for the promising game: firstly, Vincent isn't the only character suffering from nightmares; his buddies are having similarly disturbing dreams. They all tend to have a "narrow-minded view" of love and marriage but that may not be the only problem… As for the gameplay, Vincent will have to escape from the monsters in his nightmares and if you fall or get captured, it's Game Over. The level design should be an interesting combination of 2.5D and 3D visuals, too. In other details, you will utilize e-mail to communicate with Katherine (Vincent's current girlfriend) and Catherine (the sexy muse). In her turn, the flirtatious Catherine will use e-mail to send over some dirty pictures…we're just not sure if this will have a direct impact on the gameplay. Can it possibly…?
This is certainly one of the more original concepts for a game, and we trust Atlus to deliver a mature, unique experience. We still need to see some in-game footage, though.

I expect nothing less than an excelent game from Atlus and the Persona team. This game has really caught my attention, and I'm only waiting for the US release date, which shouldn't be too far.
Game gets crazier all the time. Sounds a bit like survival horror/psychological thriller. I still wonder if it will come to the US, and if so how many years after the Japanese release? And for God's sake don't tone it down for Western wimpy audiences, it's just anime.
Male nudity?
LV, I'm scared of your porn collection.
::evil grin::
Ha, that's the same as how I think of Catherine. The likenesses of insanity…
Peace.
for some reason LV you come off as taking your time through the Ethan shower scene in Heavy Rain instead of the Madison shower scene lol
ding ding
I only played Persona 2, but I had immense fun with that. And knowing Atlus is the publisher pretty much gaurantees this to be a good game in my eyes.
I know they'll bring their japanese culture to the western shore in very good fashion.

They are not only the publishers, but the developers as well.
They're rare but Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 make the list as favourite games of all time. They are also two of the best jrpgs of the last decade.
I think I might pick up Persona 3 for the psp.
Damn man, I was thinking of getting Persona 3 on PSP. Still 'spensive though.
CheapppppppppppppppppppppASSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Don't make me beat you senseless.
Well worth it though. Lots of time to be had with it.
Seeing how there's sheep involved somehow….
I wonder if those dirty pics will be of some racy shaved mutton posing her udders while draped in wolves clothing.
If so, I'm guessing she's probably the black sheep of the family.

I don't really understand why Atlus would be catering to the creeps out there, but this game is really starting to sound a little off. How are we supposed to enjoy ourselves while keeping an eye over our shoulders?
Guess you weren't a fan of RapeLay.
The same way you beat off while married?
LOL!
Good one World.
LOL. Touche World.
I, for one, may play this title with the wife! With her, I've got nothing to hide. Which makes life wonderful!
LOL. You're kidding right? You do know they are in-game E-mails?
So, do you escape from the monsters through platforming, or QTE's or just plain running for your life? I'm quite confused about all of the different elements going into this game.
As for the dirty pics… What's the betting it ends up either censored or not released here in Australia? Following this game is doing my head in, and we still don't know if it'll be released here.
Peace.
I'm thinking we'll be importing, no question her in Aus. Unless we somehow manage to get an R rating sorted out before this releases. Unlikely considering it's been in development for awhile already and the wheels are turning REALLY slowly.
I don't do imports. If it isn't released here, then I won't get it, simple as that. The 'R' rating… I thought that it would be a relatively simple matter once Atkinson was out of office, but then I found out that has to go through all sorts of legislation and I'm starting to think we won't see it happen until 2014 at least.
Peace.
hope they release this here at a reasonable time, none of this 12+ months later BS like deamon souls!
ahh, whats the point?
will get banned on the spot!
women like catherine freak me out, so regardless this would be in the horror genre to me. Just based on the description of her actions past memories flood in, and i'm bound to have nightmares. *shivers*
This more and more sounds like it's kind of an interactive version of one of the darker Anime series, or perhaps a fully interactive manga.
Dark, mature, dark, sexual, dark…did I say dark? 😉
I applaud Atlus for making it, but I won't be buying it. Call me whatever you like, but I actually prefer the brighter lighter, more fun oriented Anime and all the light fan service that goes with it… 😀
Give me a silly harem comedy any day over something as dark as this.
But, I am very glad they are making it, and I hope it's a success because it's all part of gaming growing up. Gaming has to grow up or we will forever be seen as over grown kids playing games. I also like that Atlus are willing to take the risk, so much for Japanese game development being 5 years behind, this looks like it's about as innovative as anything currently available, even Heavy Rain (although in a completely different style/genre).
