British Retailer Offers PS3/PSP Bundle

Remember how much effort Sony put into all that PS3/PSP connectivity stuff (like Remote Play)? You know how all those new PS1 classics have been added to the PlayStation Store for download through the PS3 and play on the PSP? And you know how the PSP saw a bunch of fantastic titles in 2006? Well, if you don't have either system yet, British retailer HMV Online has got ya covered.

However, it's not really an option, so that could be a bad thing. If you want to pre-order a PS3 from HMV, you'll also have to buy a £250 PSP package along with it. The bundle is open to the first 5,000 customers, but that means they'll be laying down £675 (that's $1328, my European gamer friends), and it includes the PS3, PSP, two PSP games ( Killzone: Liberation and Gangs of London ), and a 4GB memory stick.

Well, we're used to seeing forced bundles from retailers for next-gen stuff, but two systems in the same package? That's a new one. Unfortunately, this bundle doesn't save you any money – it'd cost the same if you bought everything piecemeal – but at the very least, HMV guarantees they'll "ship your PlayStation 3 to you from our warehouse as soon as we receive consoles from Sony."

As for those of you who already own a PSP…well, we'd have to advise looking elsewhere for your PS3. But for those of you who don't, and have the money, you might want to consider this. You know you want both!
