PlayStation Plus Cards Sent To North American Retailers

If you haven't jumped on a PlayStation Plus membership just yet, the holidays would be the perfect time.

And the next time you're browsing about GameStop – or other retail locations where one might find PSN cards – you might just find a card asking you to try the new premium service for three months. According to Kotaku , the Plus cards should be coming to stores in North America soon. In fact, the tipster in question says the cards are already at Target stores in the northeast, but only in designations of $17.99. That's the price of the three-month membership; the annual membership is $49.99, but apparently nobody has seen that particular card just yet. As you probably know by now, being a Plus member gets you early access to certain betas and demos; the most recent example would be the European demo for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow , which was only available to Plus adopters in that region. You also get some free stuff from time to time, so the extra available content is probably worth the cost.

Anyway, we'll let you know if and when Plus cards – in both $17.99 and $49.99 denominations – hit stores around the country. The timing seems just about right.
