Update: Unfortunately, Media Molecule has confirmed LittleBigPlanet 2 has been delayed worldwide until January 2011, citing the need for extra time to create "the best experience possible."
Original Story:
Arguably the biggest PlayStation 3 exclusive for the holiday season – Gran Turismo 5 might take the cake – LittleBigPlanet 2 is likely a legitimate Game of the Year contender.
…but which year? While the beta testing is in full swing, it's possible that developer Media Molecule may have spotted something that would cause a delay. According to the game's official Japanese website, as cited by GameSpot , the hotly anticipated sequel now has a 2011 release window. LBP2 is supposed to be Move-compatible and up until now, it has held a November 2010 launch date for both North America and Japan. So what's the deal? Does this delay affect the US and Europe as well? The good news is that no, it doesn't appear likely at this point in time. No other source can be found that hints at a LBP2 delay for the NA/EU regions, and retailers like GameStop still say the game will be here on November 16. We're hoping it stays that way; Sony really needs this game for the upcoming holiday season, and we've already got plenty of huge titles in the first part of 2011, Killzone 3 included.
We'll keep an eye on things and let you know but for now, just cross your fingers that LittleBigPlanet 2 sticks for the US.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! :S
I want LBP 2 but I just spent over 300 on a new ps3 so it'll be awhile till I get a new games,:( man i really want this game and medal of honor, and a few more but Christmas is coming so I know that all my money from family will go towards games plus boxing day will be fun to shop always great deals on new games.
Forget LBP2 did anybody see the gameplay video for Bioshock Infinite! It was sick!! Holy Shit it looked more insane then the first two games. Oh my God! I can't wait.
And forget Bioshock Infinite cause we won't see it releasing until 2012.
Man, this really sucks. Now I have to try and bust out LBP2 and Dead Space 2 that comes with Extraction. This is seriously awful news, yeah Bioshock: Infinite looks really good but it is nothing to write home about until the latest fall of next year.
Just saw the update. That's fine. With Fallout: New Vegas and Gran Turismo 5 taking up all of my November and December, maybe it's for the best in my case.
well it looks like EA's Create just scared off Little Big Planet 2. if this tells us anything i can't wait to try Create.
Yeah, I HIGHLY doubt that is the case. In fact, I'm certain EA's Create had absolutely nothing to do with LBP2 being delayed.
"Reading is FUNdamental"
@Mr_Nice_Guy & BikerSaint go ahead say what you wanna say. "the need for extra time to create "the best experience possible." I read it like this "oh my god we just saw a preview of create and they blow us out of the water we need more time to make Little Big Planet 2 better"
Well, we all have our own opinions on it…..
and you know what they say about opinions, including my own, LOL
(But I still think you're wrong)

Fine with me, though it would have been a perfect Christmas/holidays game.
Either way, getting this game the first second it comes out. GOTY contender for 2011 for sure.
@PeopleWhoDon'tUnderstand-LPB,
Your loss
Everything gets delayed to 2011. Then Holiday 2010 will only be GT5?! I preordered my GT5 already, but isn't it a bit weak to only have one genre for the Holiday?
One reason I'm intimidated to create any levels in the original LBP was because the dualshock input is really slow. Once I saw how much time and effort other gamers spent, I didn't continue any further. It took me hours to create just a car meeting my standards. This type of game really needs a smooth mouse-like input. I hope Media molecule take advantage of this delay to add and perfect the MOVE features.

Its cool Fall is way too crowded and LBP2 deserves some more hype and a free month so it can sell as it should.
That's how I'm seeing it.
I wish more developers would take the time to make their games as good as possible. After the Enslaved demo it felt like it could have benefit from a few months extra polish.
Quality is king, that should ALWAYS be the rule.
Sounds like some Bugs needed squishing.
I am going to guess that there was some issues with the beta.
Any ways: OOOOOOOOH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
