Arc The Lad, Alundra Set For The PSN?

RPG fanatics have plenty of reasons to check out the library of PS1 classics on the PlayStation Network.

But there are still plenty more that could make an appearance. Two more have just been rated by the ESRB, as noted by Siliconera , and both would be fantastic additions to the PSN. The first is the strategy/RPG Arc the Lad , localized by Working Designs "back in the day," and the second is Alundra , the Zelda -like, puzzle-heavy action/RPG that required some definite patience and thought. There's no other reason for the ESRB to re-rate the titles again and most every time this happens, the games in question end up on the PSN at some point. They've listed both Arc the Lad and Alundra for the PS3 and PSP, and let's not forget that both games are already available on the Japanese PSN…so it's definitely time to get 'em over here. The only downside is you won't get one of those awesome Working Designs collectible boxes, which we had for the Lunar games and Arc the Lad .

For the record, Alundra remains one of my favorite games of all time. Strongly recommended to anybody who hasn't played it. We'll let you know if/when official announcements come down the pike.

Nice! I haven't played any of the Arc the Lad games but I play Alundra at least once every couple years or so. Awesome game.

If you don't get Alundra, you're just a silly billy.

Has more depth and challenge than 80% of games today. Hugely Zelda inspired, but much darker.

One of Sony's best that needs to comeback.

An action/adventure RPG similar to Zelda with IMO an excellent story that is surprisingly captivating.

Ben got me to try it after his "not the sharpest cutlass on the rack" comment referring to the register biscuit at GS.

Woooo Alundra! Awesome awesome game, recommend it to anyone interested in Zelda-type games. Funny how both games are published by Working Designs. Don't know much about Arc the Lad though, is it any go- I mean, any excellent?

I can't wait… PS1 Classics are the only place it seems i can get a good JRPG without fear of being WESTERNIZED… Just wish a good turn based RPG would come out on PS3 already

I somehow missed Alundra, maybe I'll grab that.

HEY, you… foolish game makers. Take a look at the new sales of old school RPGs and then tell me there is no reason to make them like they used to.

Hmm, I've never heard about either of these games, and both sound intresting. Are they any good? Average playtime for finishing?

Alundra is huge!

A massive overworld with countless dungeons, castles, huts and a central village.

The amount of secrets there are and how hard many of them are to obtain is enough to make you sweat into one big…..sweat mess…..

Main game at about 40hrs, all else, 50hrs.

I will probably pick them both up as I've heard only good things and I actually played Alundra, which I was introduced to via Ben Dutka, and it turned out to be amazing.

Thanks Ben 🙂

I just found out these are being brought to the PSN by Gaijingames, Vic Ireland's new company. How appropriate!
