After weeks of evidence leaks, Fumito Ueda himself has announced high-definition remakes for critically acclaimed – and widely beloved – PS2 titles, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus . This Team ICO Collection will even boast 3D support (Colossi in 3D!!!) and it'll feature both games in question. Interestingly for North American gamers, ICO will include the European ending rather than the US ending, which, according to Ueda, makes it a "complete game." This single-disc collection – akin to God of War Collection – is slated to arrive in Spring 2011, which falls in line with the rumor that it would hit store shelves in "March or April." You can probably expect a $40 price tag; this was the price for the GoW Collection and Wal-Mart mistakenly listed Ueda's upcoming Collection with a $39.82 price. This all comes as great news to fans of the two adventure games, which were both pleasant and challenging breaths of fresh air.
Although those who aren't familiar will find the statement too bold, we'll say it, anyway- if you're a PS3 owner and you haven't played Uncharted 2: Among Thieves , you need to return your system. If you're a PS3 owner and you don't intend to have the Team ICO Collection in your…um…collection…same deal. No, seriously.

I could never understand what the hell Europeans were talking about. Turns out we got some nonsense ending instead of the real deal. Glad Ueda is fixing that.
Oh, I'm sorry for having played and enjoyed both endings. Shame on me!
My old roommate played SotC, but he never owned it. He hogged the PS2 for like two weeks, the bastard! Skipped all his classes!
Anyways, I missed out on this title, which I'm ashamed of. I'll be picking up the collection for sure.
I left gaming for quite a while (for about 3 or 4 years), and i got hint of this game from the Adam Sandler movie, Reign Over Me, where in the movie, that's what his character would play on a huge screen TV in his reclusive apartment.
Two weeks? He didn't know you can skip sleep and meals and get it done in a day?
Evidently he isn't a very "good" gamer. Plus if you think about it, it takes several playthroughs in order to get to the top of the Castle sooooooooo.
Well, I don't know much about the game, and when in University, I DID focus on my work and I played 2 varsity sports. But when I was home to game… ya… taken… for two weeks.
However, he's a pretty darn good gamer. He's got 18 platinum trophies so far, and in MW2, his K/D is like 1.80 or so.
My KDR is over 3.4 in CSS and there's no auto aim there 🙂
He always complains about the auto-aim screwing his sights up. I agree. I wish you could turn it off.
Besides, the auto-aim is exploitable, like in the auto-aim malfunction of quickscopers who think they're good. >.< Effing glitchiness.

The truth. Only game ranking anywhere near SOTC is U2, in my estimation.
I'm incredibly psyched, and glad that i'll get a chance to play these in HD. I suppose the the framerate will be improved, too, posing less of a wrestling match with the controls this time around.
Also, I've been looking far and wide for Ico, and I'm glad i'll get a chance to play it in it's best form.
3D is looking a lot better now!

This could be full price, and it would still be one of the wisest purchases a gamer could make, in my opinion.
Anyway, whoever at Sony decided to pursue high-definition remakes of past-generation classics:

I have those 2 games already from my PS2 days. Having "been there, done that", I don't plan on getting this anytime soon…and I have new PS3 games to experience, so I won't be returning my system. 😉

The first half of 2011 is really going to be wallet busting for me.
As you say, getting this collection is as much a no-brainer as having UC2. Some games you just don't pass up.
And Ueda, just so you know, I will buy ANY game that says "Shadow of the Colossus" on it.

Anyways OT: I just had my first practical driving lesson and it actually went fairly great, since I hadn't ever even shifted the stick, car stick, but yeah, next week, next lesson, time to put some GT record time on the TT Race track at my city 🙂

I strongly urge that you don't get a Sony computer. They're similar to Apples in that you pay way too much for what you actually get. Sorry Jawk but it's true!

Ha, I paid about 1,200 if I remember correctly for the best Vaio Laptop Sony had out at the time. 1080p 17" display, 500gb HDD, HDMI and Optical outputs, Bluray drive and player, DVD burner etc. Decent graphics card too. Good enough to run most games I think. My only complaint so far is it turns off by itself if I pick it up wrong while it's on. Other than that it's been smooth sailing.
Aren't most Apple notebooks in the 2 to 3 thousands? I compared because my wife being an Apple fan wanted another Apple note book but I talked her into the Vaio because it came with a whole lot more for less and Sony doesn't charge or customer service and tech support like Apple does.
But LV knows more than me about this stuff. I'm sure you can get an awesome rig thats way better than mine for less money if you build it yourself.

That's a steal Jawk, especially given the time you bought it. I'll eat my words if that deal still stands. Though I have to admit I don't trust Sony's computers compared to other brands or ones I've built. Though when it comes to laptops I'll admit I don't build them, it's too time consuming.
Oh and before the hate I love Sony's electronic products, just had bad experiences with their computers.
Yea i got a good deal on it. The same model that i have is now starting at $999 on Sony's site. The best one is quite a bit more expensive than the one i got. But i bought mine from BestBuy so i got a decent deal.
I do admit i paid way to much for my Vaio desktop back in 2002. All my friends in college had way better PC's and spent half the money i did.

I play SotC 2 times already and ICO only one. I dont care to play a third time.
But here my Trophies:
1) Finish the game without riding the horse
2) Kill all birds
3) Do not use sword to guide you

Some collossus are impossible without riding Agro and others just take forever to reach.
Oh, so the horse's name is Agro? I thought it was Agoh, the guy never does seem to say it properly. Plus I don't think he meant that he finished the game without riding the horse, just his ideas for trophies should the game offer trophy support.
It's nice to see the Last Guardian trailer finally as well. That game looks so fluid with the motion. Still need to finish Ico though 🙁

Ah confirmation. Just what I've been waiting for. Now I can allow myself to get really excited for this.
Previously I've had absolutely no interest in 3D… but this, this might actually make me want to try it out. I still doubt I'll get on that train any time soon though.
I'm not returning my PS3! I'll get around to Uncharted 2 eventually lol. I'll definitely be picking this collection up, I've never played either game but they sound like the type that would fabulous in HD.
What's your excuse for having not played Uncharted2 year? It's almost been a year since it's release. Come on……
Really there is no other game that should be in your PS3 right now.
My only excuse is pretty lame – I just got my PS3 last summer so I had a few years of catching up to do. And those older games are pretty cheap – and I'm really cheap. At least I played the first Uncharted, so there's hope for me yet. I promise, PROMISE I'll get Uncharted 2 for a Christmas Present for myself.
Until then I'll just hang my head in shame 🙁

Yes! Now, when is it being released in Europe/Australia. I hope we don't get another five month shafting like we did with the GoW collection. I'm supposed to be taking off on take two of my round-Aus trip at the end of next year. Damn Sony and their great games making me not want to go.

shame its only 30FPS that was quite disappointing!
all ps2 games should be remakes in 60FPS especially since they dont have the visual candy and effects ps3 games have.
