Ben-DutkaWell before Sony takes the stage for their press conference, Gran Turismo 5 gets its day in the sun at TGS 2010.
If you don't happen to be a journalist visiting Tokyo right now, and you still wish to learn all about the GT5 presentation with series guru Kazunori Yamauchi, you should visit GTPlanet . You can find details of the breakout session for the game there, and while most of it isn't surprising (especially if you've been following the news this year), some of it is pretty darn interesting. Here are a just a few that caught our eye; click the link above to see them all:
"Gran Turismo Anywhere" will allow you to manage B-Spec races, right from your computer. You’ll be able to hold B-Spec races with your friends from anywhere in what are called "Remote Races."
GT5 will feature a series of special events such as the Karting Experience, the AMG driving school, The Stig Challenge, Jeff Gordon NASCAR School, Sebastien Loeb Rally Challenge, and Gran Turismo Rally.
Point-to-point rally stages will be automatically and randomly generated – you’ll have to depend on your co-driver to give you the best instructions about the road ahead.
Weather changes include temperature differences, air pressure changes, and humidity, affecting the surface conditions of the track dynamically.
Weather conditions are randomized. Forecasts for your race will be available but may not be entirely accurate, just like the real world.
Yamauchi admits that, in certain situations – such as standing race starts in the rain with 15 other cars on the screen kicking up spray in front of you – the game may not be able to hold 60FPS. Otherwise, it will strive to hold 60FPS as often as possible.
Many things didn’t make the cut in Gran Turismo 5, and work on Gran Turismo 6 has already begun.
GT6? Really? We heard something about that earlier this year and we distinctly remember saying, "please give us GT5 first before we hear anything more about GT6." But that time isn't far off now; Gran Turismo 5 is set to launch on November 2, so get your steering wheels and race knowledge (which may need a boost) ready.

My god, this game might overshadow Uncharted 2. And I'm not exaggerating.
well here are some things that haven't been mentioned for GT5 that I would love to see in GT6.
1. Drag racing, yes shifting gears can be fun and I would love the option to do those style races
2. Truck Racing, There were a few racing trucks in GT4 but I'm thinking more along the lines of rally truck racing. Because if anyone can do it, it would be the guys at Polyphony
3. Motorcycles, self explanitory
It can't remain in 60 fps for the whole time?
It said only during standing race starts.

Lets see this means I need to frozen now, thawed Nov. 2. Then a few days or weeks later be frozen and then thawed Feb. 22. Then be rerefrozen and thawed in time for In Famous 2. I wonder if that would be healthy?

Funny, I made a similar reference on Joystiq last night when someone mentioned they wanted to be frozen till The Last Guardian was released.

nope theres heaps of freeware on the net that you can download for free that will do the same thing.
though you do have to have the original games, you cant download the game since at the moment the ps3 can not read burned games which is surprising because allot of preview code sony sends journalists is actually burned games.
that will change soon though, the first homebrew app released today which allows you to play any PSP game even if it does not support remote play on your ps3!

Yeah, that has been cleared. No cockpit in standards, not even a black-outlined like GTPSP as PD wasn't satisfied with it.
At this point in time, I think people shouldn't care so much about it anymore. We've driven GT1-GT4 without cockpit, so one of the cams from those, people should be use to them.

I can't even imagine how good GT6 will look.
GT5 is coming it's pretty much finished there just speeding up load times and a few graphic touch up, The sooner they get to work on GT6 the better and sooner it will be released… with the PS4… Drooling
You negative people, GT5 is coming and it will deliver. The wait will be worth it.
OWNS. And GT6 will release on the PS3. They've had two releases on each of the other PS consoles (PSP excepted), so it only makes sense. Why do I like that phrase so much?

its so frustrating playing games with fluctuating frame rates, im playing mafia 2 on the PC and it looks AMAZING!
only problem is a freaking 2 year old has coded the game so the frame rate is all over the place!
one minute its at 60, the next its dropped to 5!
never in my 20+ years of gaming, NEVER have i played a game that has such a fluctuating frame rate.
its so frustrating because of the drops the games constantly suffering from slow down, ive lost count the amount of times ive died because of the slowdown.
