The more we see of Atlus' new project, Catherine , the more we sense this bizarre yet exotic mixture of fear and arousal. They say it isn't an RPG and in fact, it's a whole new genre , which is intriguing in and of itself. The Japanese anime style and overtly sadistic/erotic atmosphere may repulse some gamers but still, whenever something fresh and original looms on the horizon, we have to pay attention. Anyway, here's the new trailer for the game; it debuted today at the Tokyo Game Show.
The other woman there is Katherine, Vincent's girlfriend. Yeah, that's right; Katherine and Catherine. You know they did that on purpose. Phrases like "True Love?!" and "Life's Choices" can be seen in the video but beyond that, we struggle to make sense of the story. It's just out of control . And one of these days, amidst all this freaky imagery, Atlus is going to have to deliver some gameplay footage. Ought to be interesting.

It will most likely come stateside since it is a game developed by Atlus, not just plublished. Atlus has offices in Europe and US. They are as big as any other japanese company now, so if they develop a game, they release it everywhere.
Besides, Atlus is all about fan service, just look at… well, everything they published.
I'll argue that one. They've been doing a great job the last few years, but early on on other systems, a lot of their games was worth less than the plastic they came with. IMO that started to change after the PS came out. Ogre Battle is still my favorite from them.
Well, I can't speak for the rest of the world, but FFRulez, I guarantee you that Canadian censorship is not as tight as American censorship.
If all we're getting are story trailers, maybe this will be a narrative-driven game.

I'll take that bet, for there has never been an AO rated playstation game ever. And there never will be as long as sony gets to make the decision.

the more i hear about this the more interested i get. could be another sleeper hit for atlus the same way demon souls is.
I swear I saw some gameplay of this game somewhere when it was first announced, I think it was a japanese site. Anyway, I hope it does come stateside. Besides the old "skinny man in tidy whities" hack the rest looks good.

This is definitely one im excited for. Looks like one more for the mature/intelligent gamer and we need more of them.
More originality and risk taking is what we need in this gen, it's coming….but it's very late.

Most of the games that has Atlus' name on it is a really great game, so if this game actually does come to NA I would buy it.
Although, with all the commotion of the Schwarzenegger v. EMA case around, it could be used as evidence of the "inappropriate" games kids are exposed to these days…

I was just looking at another article and I started to think "What if this game plays like Demon's Souls" Only in a progressive dungen like Persona 3? You know something like every night when you have the nightmare you keep advancing in the dungeon untill you die, and then you wake up.
