When you think Def Jam, you instantly think hip-hop music. So when you're making a Def-Jam game, you sure as hell better have some solid tracks playing in the background. Well, for the third entry into the Def Jam series, the soundtrack isn't just there for you to listen to. The songs actually have an effect on the stage you're in, which in turn has an effect on your fight.
I'm not quite sure I understand the reasoning behind using songs that are two, three, four and seven years old…as they're not necessarily hits anymore (not today, at least). Don't get me wrong, most of the songs are pretty damn solid; it just seems like a weird quirk to use so many songs that are that old. A walk down memory lane, perhaps? Regardless, the full soundtrack is as follows:
Big Boi (Purple Ribbon All-Stars feat. Big Boi): Kryptonite
E-40: Tell Me When To Go
E-40: Go Hard or Go Home
Fat Joe: Make It Rain
