Like most big publishers, Square-Enix doesn't really believe in platform exclusivity anymore. This is why many have assumed any delays associated with Final Fantasy Versus XIII are due to the developer's new multiplatform aims.
However, while there's no knowing if Square-Enix will eventually port the game to the Xbox 360, game producer Testuya Nomura has confirmed that as of yet, they are not thinking about Microsoft's console. The following information comes from a recent Tweet (as cited by Andriasang ), where Nomura talks about the difference between "multiplatform" and "port:"
"Multiplatform is when you start development on a game with the assumption of optimizing for multiple platforms. Porting is something that's done after you've developed a game specifically for a particular platforms. The debate over porting is decided by the management based off the current market and the costs. All I can say right now as a developer is that Versus is being developed specifically for the PlayStation 3."
This makes the situation relatively clear: even if Square-Enix brings Final Fantasy Versus XIII to the Xbox 360, it will be a port, which will invariably mean the PS3 version will be superior. We all know about shoddy ports ; long-time PS3 owners are all too familiar. But in this case, they shouldn't be too peeved; the designers are only focusing on Sony's machine, which could mean good things…

They did it with FFXIII.
Yeah, and reconstruct the core fabric of the game entirely this late into development, sounds logical. That's like the ICO tam deciding that they should go ahead and port The Last Guardian to the DS or something, pretty logical.
Drake88,
Don't forget Atlus & NIS at taking RPG's to the masses too.

Plus there's always Gust and Idea Factory.
I have faith that this game will be great. Nomura never disappoints and actually listens and learns. Probably why Birth by sleep was so refined.
I am a huge Kingdom Hearts fan and Birth by Sleep just reaffirmed that Nomura knows what he is doing. If he can make in my opinion the best version of Kingdom Hearts on a PSP then he can surely make one of the best Final Fantasy games on the PS3.
I'm a big fan of Squaresoft Games ( yes Squaresoft not Square-enix) and I'm looking forward for this FF versus. However, after reading some of the comments I can't help but to remember the most impressive games to me:
To me the best top 6 games I played were:
FFVII
FFVIII
FFX
Xenogears
Chrono Trigger
Chrono Cross
guys….don't get mad at me…..BUT I'VE NEVER PLAYED A FINAL FANTASY GAME!!!!
I highly doubt that Versus XIII will stay exclusive.
