It was never a blockbuster franchise but it has always been a breath of fresh air for gamers who seek originality and bemoan the loss of pure adventure games.
According to Andriasang citing the latest Famitsu, Irem has confirmed recent rumors and announced Disaster Report 4 exclusively for the PlayStation 3. If you're unfamiliar, the first two entries were for the PS2, and the third and last released for the PSP. In the fourth iteration, we're apparently in the near future, and during the heat of a typical July summer, your character heads to the city for a job interview. At this point, a giant earthquake hits and you must somehow escape, finding a safe path through the collapsing buildings and dealing with the panicked crowds. The game will boast over 60 characters in the storyline – the largest cast yet – and those people can either help or hinder as you progress. Known features are:
— You can enter collapsed buildings, within which you'll find survivors and additional escape routes.
— You'll find new items, including crutches for when your legs are injured.
— The game has a new "cleanliness" parameter for your character. If your character gets too dirty, your stress will rise. To increase your cleanliness parameter, you need to…use the toilet!. This is a new facility for Disaster Report 4. You can use the toilet to increase your cleanliness parameter.
You'll be able to customize your character for the first time, too, and the magazine also confirmed 3D, PlayStation Move, and 5.1 support…combine those three, and this might be the closest you'll ever get to a major disaster. Or ever want to get, right? Disaster Report 4 is set to launch in Japan this winter; we'll let you know when the North American details arrive. All the other titles came here, so we're expecting this one as well.

sounds like a direct quote. it almost too silly for ben to have written it. no offense ben if you did. everyones loves a bit of silly now and again.
Can anyone say Poo Poo undies.
Young Frankenstein- Madeline Khan to Peter Boyle.
The special edition of Young Frankenstein has some hilarious outtakes and bloopers.
Sounds interesting. I never played the first ones, but exclusive titles will always get my attention and possibly my money at the title's launch.
Sweet! I really enjoyed Disaster Report and Raw Danger. I was hopping that the third would get localized. But its still good to hear that they are making a forth!
I've got the 1st Disaster Report & also have Raw Danger too, but I never realized there were 3 others already made for the PS2 & PSP.
Guess I'll be off to the hunt for those 3 those missing DR's now….
"Tally Ho"
Looks like Ben walked into jury duty and screamed "hang the white devil" and they let him go home early
Never said a word. Two civil cases; I wasn't part of the group to be interviewed for the first case, and the second case was "continued."
So I was out of there by 11. 🙂

Not bad at all. We do a call in system in California, at least the county I am in, and the only time I was summoned I called the number and it said my group was clear to ignore it.
Played the first one, never knew bout the second and third.
The game while isn't for everyone, it is quite fun and engaging at times. You'll spend most of your time scavenging or escape collapsing buildings.
And there's multiple endings too, and each ending differ in length, like when the chopper arrived, you can either hop on to finish or stay back to look for a friend 's brother.
Look for this game if you can, won't hurt to try out something different right?
Haven't heard of the franchise before. Does it have a similar and more popular game to compare to (in terms of gameplay)?
I have to be honest, this game does not sound much fun…
After enjoying Afrika quite a bit I am now ready and willing to try anything. These oddball games are often fun and engaging. I'll definitely keep my eyes open for a NA release.
I'll definetly be getting the fourth. Raw Danger was on of the most unique games I ever played.
Sounds a bit like I Am Alive. Whatever happened to that game?
It lied about being alive.
HA.
Really, though, no news on that.
I think I'm Alive is currently on a continually delayed life support system, in the outer realm of our site/sight.
(But I am hoping the patient is able to grab a in-game health pack and pull through in 2011).
Hopefully it comes out sometime next year. The game looks pretty cool.
i am alive has been delayed because it was moved to ubisoft shanghai.
they delayed it into FY 2011 earlier this year, so will be quite a while till we see it 🙁
sounds like BG&E2.
Actually, it is the other way around.
I Am Alive sounds like Disaster Reports 1 and 2 (2 was Raw Danger in the U.S.), which came out yeaaaaaaaaaaars ago on the PS2.
Now the 4th one is making its way on PS3, I should really start playing the previous three.
This could be interesting for a lark.
Sounds pretty interesting! =D
Really underlooked innovative gem.
I have no idea why they don't get much attention, but the same concept, only majorly dumbed down (and on life support ) does.
It also frustrates me because it's further proof the Japanese devs are still kicking it, but will again be ignored.
Day one purchase.
Sounds fun, I'll be on the look out for this. Even though it might not be out 'till late 2011, but hey, I'm on the look out for Versus XIII and that won't be out till I don't know…
On a side note, I just pre-ordered the Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Collector's Edition, I can't wait 'till September 10th!
I'll import it later this year. Gotta love the import scene, which the PS3 makes easier this gen.
Last gens, I had to buy a Japanese PS2 and chip my PS1, Saturn, and DC.
Disaster Report? These games sound pretty darn cool. I never heard of them before. Will be looking forward to more news about a Western release. Will probably look into checking out the PS2 & PSP releases as well.
What they don't tell you is that you will be constipated from all the adrenaline, and you will have to go to a pharmacy to take a laxative before you drop two.
mmmm, i could get use to this!
nice to see some different unique games being announced instead of the typical shooter!
Wasn't the first one about an earthquake as well?
