It's all about respect and revenge in the world of Mafia II …and Jimmy desperately needs his revenge.
Today, 2K Games has announced the second piece of downloadable content for their recently released mob drama: it's called "Jimmy's Vendetta" and it'll be available for $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points on September 7. Featuring a grand total of 30 new quests in Empire Bay, "Vendetta" "will take players into an alternate perspective of the mob through the eyes of Jimmy, the guy the other guys call when they need to finish the job." Thing is, you might have to clean up other people's messes as you go, so it's not all about you. New quests will be unlocked as you push through and objectives can range from straight-up assassination to car chases and explosive firefights. You can snag points by power sliding in a vehicle and head shots and as anyone already familiar with the game knows, those points can be important. Mafia II isn't the greatest game of the year, but it certainly boasts a great atmosphere and style, and if you really get into the well-paced drama, your entertainment is assured.
Even so, we get the feeling that more people are still interested in Red Dead Redemption DLC.
Related Game(s): Mafia II
Been playing Mafia II for about a week now. It's not the greatest, but it's entertaining. Not sure if it's entertaining enough to warrant $10 on DLC though.
Same here.
What are these points that are so important? I've been playing for a week now and I know nothing of them.
These points are for the "arcade" like DLC like "The Betrayal Of Jimmy" and this new DLC. You actually score "old-school" points for doing stuff.
I haven't played Betrayal yet. I wanna wait until I finish the main game. I'm at the beginning of Chapter 8.
I am at the beginning of Chapter 15 on hard. If these DLC's are "arcadey" and have nothing to add to the main story, then I am so NOT sold and won't bother getting them.
I have to ask: Why are the DLC epsiodes seeming to focus on Jimmy rather than Vito? I mean, it makes sense in that they don't want to make the player feel cheapened by not having experienced all of Vito's story, but it seems odd to me. Then again, if it ends like GTA IV, I can understand it. I didn't want to play as Niko again after that for some reason.
Peace.
DLC is coming out very fast for this game. Anyone know if they are the typical 100kbs?
What is the point in Microsoft Points? Why not just have money? Like $10 = $10 not $10 = 5000 (or whatever) points.
I think I'll buy this game when it becomes cheap. I played the demo but there doesn't seem like that much is going on when you're not doing a mission. Still, looked fun though.
ChronowerX_GT,
It's probably psychological.
I'm guessing that MS uses a point system so you don't realize how much or fast you've spent your money till afterward you've already gone & done it.
Just like the way casino use chips instead of cash.
MS do know abot burning your cash after all…
Also I believe they have Disney money at Disneyland. Same demeaning scheme.
i'm so sick of crappy dlc. this is why i don't buy that crap.
DLC so fast?…Let people beat the game first until you start offering paid DLC. I may or may not buy the game…but supporting DLC is out of the question. Give us the damn full experience already. $60 bucks for the potential of more game at a cost. No wonder the used game industry is booming.
'Mafia II' and 'Red Dead Redemption' are on pretty equal ground for me, but the lack of single-player downloadable content for the latter makes me more interested in this for now.
Also, the downloadable packs are basically the same as 'Grand Theft Auto IV's 'Episodes', focusing on a separate protagonist.
Of course, a big difference here is that you get even more missions for half the price.
screw this dlc the Bioshock 2 single player dlc is out today. same price. i will be getting that instead.
Has anyone had any freezing issues with chapters 14 and 15? At the end of 14 after the cut scene while loading chapter 15 it froze. I finally got past that, then it froze in chapter 15 going down the stairs in the observatory.
Hi:
So, people and Ben Dutka. The next is with ALL Respect for all of you:
Do you REALLY (still) think that DLC is a good idea? I mean, DLC for Mafia II.. How many months or years has passed since that (so far) release date of the Game?
Red 5.
Erm, Mafia II only released last week or something… Sorry if I'm misconstruing your question but yeah. On the other hand, I don't like the idea of DLC much. That's why I prefer to stick to GOTY editions and Complete editions when I can (admittedly not very often).
Peace.

I think it's called sarcasm
no PC release?
i downloaded jimmys vendetta last night with my download code, open up the DLC menu in the game and it says theres no DLC installed, but jimmys vendetta is there staring at me with a check next to it.
im so pissed at this game, its such a fantastic game but F*UCK I HAVE NOT PLAYED A GAME THIS BUGGY SINCE MERCENARIES 2!!!!!!!!!
never in my 10+ years of PC gaming, NEVER have i had a game constantly boot me out my home screen.
NEVER!
i did not even get to play it for a hour last night, not even 60 minutes and i got booted out 4 freaking times!
honestly if you added up all the time ive spent redoing sh*t because i lost my progress because of that bug, it would probably total up to half the freaking game!!!!!!!
2K fix your god dam game otherwise i swear to god mafia 2 will be my last 2K game EVER!!!!!!!!!!
I'll get this DLC when the price goes down a bit and have nothing else to play. I think they are releasing this DLC so early because they don't want you to trade-in your game just yet.
Stitching up on two accounts…
1) releasing a sub-standard port.
2) releasing an incomplete sub-standard port.
