Namco Bandai has a lot of faith in Ninja Theory's upcoming title, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West . Due to this confidence and a desire to compete favorably with the competition this fall, they've opened the pre-order incentive and marketing floodgates.
Let's break this down for you- firstly Namco has announced that Enslaved will dominate the YouTube home page on August 31, which will represent a "can't-miss one day only bonus pre-order incentive available exclusively online at GameStop.com." YouTube visitors can click the Enslaved banner and pre-order the game, view an awesome gameplay video, and even download free wallpapers and icons. As for the pre-order bonus: US customers who have already dropped their deposit will get a DLC code for "Ninja Monkey" (he turns into a "dark and deadly assassin"), but if you pre-order exactly on August 31 (that's tomorrow, people), you'll get a couple bonus items, too. One will be a limited edition Enslaved t-shirt and the other is a "unique version of the Enslaved comic book created by Marvel." They're saying the t-shirt is a $15.95 value and the comic book is worth $3.99, so if you add this to the Ninja Monkey DLC, that's quite the pre-order incentive, right?
…no? Really? Guess you'll need another kick in the pants, so how's about this- they've got this "Dream Home Entertaiment Center" sweepstakes coming up, and you can enter simply by giving them your e-mail address, but if you pre-order at GameStop on August 31 only , you'll get one extra entry. One grand prize winner will net a fully furnished entertainment center including TV, surround sound speakers, choice of one PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 console, a limited edition Enslaved statue and of course, a copy of the game. Four first-prize winners will receive the aforementioned statute and the game. The sweepstakes begins at 12:00 a.m. EST on August 31 and ends on 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30; it's open to all legal US residents of the 50 United States and DC who are 13 years of age or older. Feel free to read up on all the official rules and restrictions .
Well then. Guess you might want to pre-order a certain game tomorrow, huh?

Wish the article STARTED with the "only in USA" clause…
I've gone from ecstatic to exhausted in seconds.
Same here, is there anything like this in the UK?
To be honest i don't like the idea of this one day only exclusivity, it's petty.

they must be scared that this game won't sell more than heavenly sword, even being multiplat. looks like this won't pass that 1.5 million.
Guess that means I'll be pre-ordering tomorrow then :).
I guess it'll shift something like 200-300k on 360 – I mean C'mon, it's a story-driven single player game set in a lush, vibrant post apocalyptic world. No chance it'll sell more than Alan Wake on 360, plus it releases shortly after Reach and close to Black Ops.
Good reviews won't save it on 360.
But, well, maybe then NT do realize that being multi platform doesn't equal making more money. PS3's got still the better target audience for NT's games.
Hope they switch back to being Sony exclusive, ditch UE3 and give us HS2 =)
No matter the reviews or sales number, I've got my CE pre-ordered coz' I want that art-book.
Hope they fix screen-tearing in the retail copy though, I don't like screen tearing.
if this bomns, then i think they'll come back to sony. 360 owner won't embrace this game with open arms.
The winner will be one happy camper! I plan on getting this but not day 1. I have high hopes for this game but despite that it's a solo experience. If it's good day 1 it will be good the following year when the price drops; and then even sweeter!
Hmmm, maybe maybe. I'll have to checkout that Enslaved youtube channel.
i liked the trailer. the bonus entry may entice me to step out of my comfort zone and pre-order.

Hmm, no preorder. Not only do we not have Gamestop here in Australia, I'm even more torn than ever as a result of my remembering the release for Vanquish is just around the corner.
Also, the whole 'one day' thing seems kinda gimmicky, and trashy. Oh well, here's hoping Namco Bandai is putting their eggs into the right basket with this one. Still, I can't imagine this selling well on the 360. I reiterate my earlier statement of 360: 600k, PS3: 1.1mil.
Peace.
sigh, another one of those exclusive to the US BS.
if i had a penny for every time that happened………
what? the US is the only country video games exist in?
no wonder they think the world revolves around them!
Oh it's only a comic, well thats ok then, could not care less about that.
Wow that's a lot of stuff, so much for selling on merits alone.
Had this been a PS3 exclusive with an improved Heavenly Sword engine I would have been very excited about this…
