Japanese Pubs Talk Yakuza’s “End,” Aya Brea

A few items of interest from Andriasang this week, starting with "The End" for Yakuza .

An ad placed on the opening page in the recent Famitsu makes one thing very clear: the city we know so well in the Yakuza series, Kamurocho, might be finished. The ad is in regards to the currently unannounced new title, and it may play into series producer Toshihori Nagoshi's recent comments about implementing a "destruction" theme of some kind. Perhaps they'll clear all this up at next month's Tokyo Game Show. Next up is the obvious Japanese fascination for Square-Enix's The 3rd Birthday and more specifically, heroine Aya Brea. She has landed on the front cover of the latest Dengeki magazine, and they even analyze the ring on her finger. Apparently, it's not a wedding ring, but it might have something to do with her lost memories and nightmares she suffers from. We also have more gameplay details for the upcoming PSP game, including two Aim Modes, hints from allies, and the different forms of "Twisted" enemies. We're definitely looking forward to this one, and we also applaud Aya's return.

As for that mysterious Yakuza ad, it may or may not indicate the end of the franchise. Perhaps it's only referring to that one city, and the theme behind the new title. We'll just have to wait and see.

I didn't even buy the 3rd game yet and I won't anymore. Not when they took out the Hostess Bar and the mahjong gameplay. I don't really care if it ends or not, unless they bring back the essence of Japanese culture to Yakuza 4 US version.

I thought Yakuza 3 still captured the essence of the Japanese culture even without the MahJong and Hostess Bars.(I'm sure you know there is more to Japanese culture than hostess bars and MahJong)
There was still lots to see and do that really gave it the right feel.
I can't wait for the next one.

You're an idiot for not buying Yakuza 3 for not having the hostess clubs and mahjong.Have you even played the Ryu Ga Gotoku Series(Yakuza Series)???

Calling it the sole essence of Japanese culture may be a bit harsh, I take that part back. But if you have been to japan, you'll realize that is a HUGE part of the culture.

Pretty sure I read that the US version of 4 will not be altered gameplay wise from the JP release.

Yakuza 5 is going to be awesome.Guess what guys
spoilers!!!
Ryuji(The badass villan from Yakuza 2) is still alive. He is coming back in Yakuza 5!You play him as one of the characters.
It's going to be awesome.

Ryuji is my third most favorite character in the Ryu Ga Gotoku Series(Yakuza Series).
Kiryu,Majima,Ryuji,Nishki,Kazama ShinTaro(Fuma Shintaro),Shinji…

I think the city is taken over and destoryed by another Yakuza family.

Kiryu,Majima,Akiyama nad Ryuji are going to fight for Kamorucho!!!

I think Shinji should be higher than Nishki. Just me saying I know the ending of Yakuza 1 was cool and amazing but still. Nishki went crazy in the middle of the game and I don't like it.

I'm glad there is a Japanese fascination with Aya Brea, it bodes well for the series finding some way to return to console form.
