Ben-DutkainFamous 2 is gonna be a blast. In fact, it'll be so much fun, we really want to fast-forward time so we can play it now .
But in the meantime, we'll just have to make do with more details. Sucker Punch's impending piece of action awesomeness made a big splash at GamesCom last week, and Kotaku learned more about Cole's new look and fresh location. If you didn't already know, inFamous 2 will take place in the bayou-like city of New Marais, which is why Cole sports a t-shirt and jeans; the leather he wore in the original would sorta be suffocating in that environment, right? Then there's that new melee weapon, which is called the Amp; we saw it on display in that explosive piece of gameplay we saw earlier. So in the sequel, there will be more of a mix of long-range and melee combat, as Cole can now juggle baddies in the air and lay the smackdown from a distance of two feet or two hundred feet. Personally, I like sniping, but whatever.There's also mention of one of Cole's new skills: the Kinetic Pulse.
Basically, you'll just be chucking very large objects at nasty enemies. It's sort of like Telekinesis on steroids and it's an example of one of Cole's new non-elemental powers. …the more we know, the more excited we become.

Yup, the new look is awesome. Those monsters are creepy though. I can't wait to see how they fit into the story. One thing SP does right with inFamous is storytelling. That, and awesome gameplay.

not at all, I want R3 but this is gonna be crazy addictive sweetness.
One thing I didn't like about Infamous was that after the game is over, you almost can't complete all the stunts because there are so little enemies left.
Definitely my Most Wanted in 2011. Now that douchebag Cole has been chucked aside and there is the characteristic yellow back in the mix all fans have been properly serviced.
I wanna hear about these ice powers too. Let the preordering begin.
Most anticipated game of 2011. I have a feeling the difference between inFamous and inFamous 2 will be like uncharted: drake's fortune and Uncharted 2: among thieves.
We can only hope for that level of sequel-awesomeness.
I think you're right. The first one was awesome, but the second will hit it out of the park.
I so hope so. Uncharted 2 was awesome in a way that doesn't make the first look bad. they first was incredible and if they do a uncharted 2 on infamous 2, ohhhh…. i'd wee with enjoyment.
Of all the games announced thus far for next year, I have to say this one probably tops my list, if not, at the top tier of my list.
I love how "playable" the first game is. The controls feel so right, and the powers are real fun to use.
Having started Assassins' Creed 2 after having played Infamous, I definitely preference inFamous's controls.
I also know it'll be another game custom engineered to utilize SPU resources.
Double awesome.
It'll be the top of the list, until they announce Uncharted 3 for next year.
You know, throughout the first game I never once questioned if it might be too warm for Cole to be wearing the leather jacket…. I just never thought about it. But after they point it out, I guess it makes sense. I not once wore a leather jacket when I lived in Alabama…. so its a rational thought.
Every bit of news on this game is definitely worth it. Very excited about the next installment! But how are these new ice powers going to work, I mean, ice turns to water, which doesn't mix well with Cole. (Which I know all too well from numerous jumps into water – most games you just get mad that the devs wouldn't let the character swim. At least Cole has a good reason)
Are we certain it's Cole that's getting the ice powers? I wonder…

Well there is thunder-snow. Has something to do with negative ions in the atmosphere or something like that. It's late and I'm running on fumes so sry for the lack of a better explanation.

Seriously though, loving the new badass moves Cole's getting.
It's what will make killing baddies more interesting.
I hope that it's not random though. I hope these moves are important in some situations.

This was going to be a day one buy for me anyway. But the more info I get the more I want it to be next year already.
Not cramping, you'd just blow your crotch and have all that money wasted from the jeans haha.
And the chafing would get so hot.
/BONUS: The metal rivets in jeans would conduct Cole's amazing electricity and hardout purge his skin.

This game is going to go straight past awesome and into unchartered territory. The original was a game that I'd been anticipating since I first heard about it, and as soon as I clocked the ending I turned to my sister and said "When is inFamous 2 coming out?" Every time I read more I become more impatient. I just have one question: Where do all of Cole's new powers come from?

shame by the looks of it the way sonys going i wont be playing it.
if sony want to treat a 20 year veteran fan like a cash machine than they can take this game and every other one and shove it where the sun dont shine!

as you can all tell by my sceen name ifamous is my favorite game from last year i am slowly but surely beating infamous i am on the 3rd island on the good side with the evil side still left. i know one infamous 2 platinum well look good next to my infamous 1 platinum once i beat both of them

sadly the first game made me nauseas. but that didn't stop me from playing it on my friends ps3. thankfully i finished it, now I'm all kinds of hyped for this game when it comes out!!

problem with heights?
Funny, I had ono problems whatsoever with the heights or any wooziness playing inFamous.
But playing Saboteur was a whole different story altogether, seemed like I was getting vertigo every time I got up somewhere real high.

Especially up high on top of that cathedral, or while climbing up to the very tip of the Eiffel Tower, just so I could dive off into that small pool of water for a freaking trophy.

This game looks epic. I can't wait for to come out. On a side note I think that if you are evil you shoud be able to contol peoples nervous system and have minions. Like Sasha's side quest. On that note I hope Sasha is back.
