Gran Turismo 5 is coming, which means hardcore racing enthusiasts all over the world are gearing up for their most anticipated title of the generation.
Although the same details concerning the Limited Edition for Japan may not transfer to North America, you'll still want to see the info provided by SCEJ . They've announced the finalized release date, the Limited Edition, and a PS3 bundle: the release date is November 3 and the first print run will be in the form of that Limited Edition, which features some very cool stuff, including a 308-page booklet (car history, tuning tips), and a product code for downloading five additional cars from the PSN. The press release also indicates over 1,000 cars, 20 courses and 70 variations, A-Spec and B-Spec modes, course maker, 3D, face tracking functionality, and the option to carry data across from Gran Turismo PSP.
As if that isn't enough, they also revealed the snazzy GT5 PS3 hardware bundle, which features a 160GB PS3 model, a copy of the first print run version (so, the Limited Edition), a Dual Shock 3 controller, and both the controller and system are "Titanium Blue." It all looks very, very hot. Also, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi spoke at length about the game in question, and all those unbelievable features and details that will set GT5 apart. For us, it's November 2 and hopefully, SCEA will soon tell us about our hardware bundle…

The blue PS3 looks great! Blue is my favorite color so I'm really loving it. That said, I still wish we can get the same bundle as Japan. Oh well.
I really want 1 of those blue slim PS3!!!Looks awesome!
Everyone knows blue PS3s don't exist 😛
they do now

You mean we'll finally have a winner? I better enter the contest real quick!
At last, the Blue PS3 giveaway from PSX is upon us…and now with GT5 included, worth the wait eh?
I only meant that post as a joke, seems the time is really upon us…good look to the finalists!
Yeah no kidding Ben, all these bundles and Signature Editions for EU and Asian territories, I feel left out in the cold =(.
I want a CE, but, I'm still waiting to hear if the US is gonna get any slick Signature editions. Hehe.
That titanium blue PS3 looks sick.
But I am over it due to GT5's confirmed "track creator".
The time I am going to spend on this game….
You know how there have been some "misunderstandings" regarding the slowly leaked GT5 info… Well this track creator is the thing I'm a little dubious about.
At first I thought it might just be karting tracks, like a simple warehouse and a huge pile of tyres we could lay out. Or maybe a track editor like in PGR or Midnight Club.
I know you're well informed on all things GT5, so I just wanted to ask if people really are expecting a full-blown track creator? …it would be totally awesome, but that's the one aspect of the game where I don't wanna have my hopes dashed.
I take it you don't go to GTPlanet.
For those that don't allow me to inform you.
You can find this info over in the new section of GTPlanet
Rather than being a fully featured editor a feature that, Yamauchi confessed, was tinkered with but deemed too complex â the course maker allows players to select certain set parameters to create a track. A theme can be selected, with the Belgian High Fens or Toscana two examples, and the individual track sectors are then defined.
Sectors are edited individually, with frequency of curves, sharpness of corners, degree of topography and banking angle are set with a series of sliders.
In other words. It's in.
Yup, that sounds like a pretty extensive track creator.
That's exactly what I wanted to hear, and exactly why I asked you. Cheers, Max.
No problem sir. I like to punish myself daily when it comes to GT5, and keep up on all the events daily.
C'mon, Ben. I can't believe you didn't even mention the blue ps3 giveaway. lllooolll.
*drool*
lucky people. great stuff!
Blue is my favorite color, but all my electronics are black, so the blue ps3 would just look awkward on my shelf, but I'd probably buy it anyway and just put it in my bedroom.
I can't resist, please give us a blue ps3 in america. Man this is cool. If they don't do this here, then they should at least do something as cool.
Yeah same here. I think I'd need to completely redecorate the living room to make a blue PS3 'fit in'. But I'd be tempted to do it. Looks great!
I hope they release a blue PS3 stateside, but I doubt it. My wallet is looking cross at me.
What?
Holy ****! That blue ps3 looks amazing!
I want this bundle! Even if the game's in Japanese…
SCEA better prepare this very same bundle for the US
I get my racing fix from Wipeout HD Metropia. That track and action is an experience like no other.
Anyway I'm going to buy this game to see what all the hype is about. I've never played a Gran Tourismo game. Is it all that?
That blue PS3 is the PsXeXtreme PS3 blue give away… they gave it to Sony to include in a very very special one in a king give away… only one exists so its value is very high… LOL…
🙂

HAHA gotta love the comeback of the blue PS3. But quite honestly I bet the regular game itself will sell 10s of millions. I just have that much faith considering how Yamauchi sama is being quite patient and careful with the release of GT5.
Slow and steady wins the race. It's Sony's motto and it's Yamauchi sama's motto.
Oh man, I hope this comes to the US also. I wouldn't mind a second PS3. The blue looks awesome.
I would have to cancel my order from Amazon for the Collector's edition.
This makes me stomp my feet and scream obscenities at Sony!
Will North America get anything anywhere near as cool as this? Why does Japan get all the sweet colors while we're left to slosh around in black and white??
Now, much Yen is going to have to be dished out for this sucker? Then I can figure how much American money I'm gonna have to give for this awesome thing!
So, GT5 has a confirmed track editor? I did not know that. I wonder what form it will take, how detailed it will be. Will GT5 be the next iteration in the Play, Create, Share genre?
Sweet. Gotta preorder my Signature Edition soon, before there are none left.
Peace.
OMG!! It's the Carbon Uberschall 8!
LOL! I prefered the original pre-release Rai-Jin myself. YMMV.
Is that the same Blue as the fictional PS3 in our giveaway?
If this bundle came out on NA, I would most definitely buy it exclusively for the PS3!!! I scratched the earth looking for the Metal Gear Solid PS3 Limited Edition which is Gunmetal Grey (it's fat and still have the 40GB… and sure as hell bought it because it had MGS4 too!)… but this one's Titanium Blue… Titanium Blue, dude!!
Like I said in the previous post (https://temp.psxextreme.com/ps3-news/7622.html#leavecomment) we need to get interchangeable faces.
Forget the white ps3's. I want a blue one instead. Come on Sony make it happen.
Oh, you want us to give away the blue PS3? You do? Huh? Yeah?
Fine. 😉
At the very least you will be able to sell that adspace.
Would it still be a phat one like in the giveaway pic? It wouldn't really matter, just curious that's all.
Congrats to the finalists.. sad I am not one of them though haha.
Quick! Everyone enter the giveaway.
Argh! too late, Ben has a list of finalists posted today. Ah well, I will have to look elsewhere…
😉

haha, i like the little tagline: You'll be the envy of every gamer regardless of your gaming skills.
Classic, where do you guys come up with this stuff? XD
Blue for GT5?
I thought it would be red or silver or some kinda hybrid.
Carbon Fiber case, with a chrome GT5 logo on the top.
The rest of the world so so needs PS3 hardware bundles. Gran Turismo has a worldwide following and a hardware bundle would strike as mega money for Sony.
🙁
why only Japan?
ps3s have not been released here yet?
if i had a nickle for every time something i wanted was regional exclusive……………….
The only thing I really cared about was the Grindhouse Set only released in Japan. 🙁
I would have liked to have seen Sony do a fake aluminum diamond plate skinned PS3 for the GT bundle
