Ben-DutkaWe all figured Insomniac would announce a new Resistance some time soon, but we weren't expecting a new Ratchet & Clank to get tossed into the mix.
The talented development team didn't show off a new game at E3 2010 for the first time in 9 years, but that's okay. We forgive them. Because today during Sony's press conference at GamesCom, Insomniac debuted their two new projects for the very first time: leading off was a new iteration of the beloved platformer franchise, called Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One . It will let up to four players explore about with Ratchet, Clank, Quark and Dr. Nefarious; the co-op aspect will highlight this particular presentation (duh) and it'll boast drop-in, drop-out support. From what was seen during the presentation, the game uses an isometric camera view that pulls back when players move apart from each other, and the combination co-op tactics are cool. All four can leap into a four-person cannon to cross big gaps, and you can even create slingshots and chains to make your platforming adventure possible.
To close the conference, Insomniac dropped the biggie- Resistance 3 . The video showed a basically broken city and when everything goes dark, an alien leaps into the scene; it's clearly a Chimera. They're back and once again, it's off to save the human race from the alien invasion. Not sure yet when it'll arrive, but make sure to check Insomniac's web page for all relevant info, including that trailer and new screenshots. It doesn't appear to be working at this moment – likely a ton of people just tried to access it in the past hour – but keep trying.

seems as if the new old cole will be a compromise of sorts, but i like it. The music fits the new trailer, im kinda shocked its not posted here yet

That was very bad-ass.
Hopefully I don't have to play the MP for 150 hours to get EVERY SINGLE BADGE to get me some trophies though. Great MP, but I gave up long before that.
Woo! Super-stoked Resistance 3 is now official. And PUMPED for you guys who are PS3-only and now get Mass Effect 2! I absolutely loved that game — was just playing through it again the other day. If you're into epic space stories, you are gonna love it.
Holy that trailer sorta reminds me a of thriller movie.
Something like 28 days later.
That shadow waving at the door sure was scary.
As for the Ratchet trailer, seems like it's gonna be 2 or 3 more years until the next 'real' R&C.
A4O looked like it's a departure from the shooting platformer to purely platformer.
But it still looks fun, especially with co-cop.

I have been waiting for this and its here. The trailier even though its live action it was epic. I love the L4D vibe, which may be the new co-op campaign.
I also loved all the small details: the Grims, the Stalker, the Chimera tooth neckalce, the saws return, what looks like Bigfoot, etc. Then again maybe I'm takeing to much from it.
By the way the new inFamous trailer is pretty epic. It also shows the newest iteration of Cole.

if i learned anything after buying resistance 2, its save ur $60 for something else
Killzone 3 multiplayer trailer, Resistance 3 announced, and Mass Effect coming to PS3?!
My mind has officially been BLOWN!!!
I just hope they release Killzone 3 and Resistance 3 a few months apart so I can really enjoy the multiplayer for each.
good day to be a ps3 owner. lots to look forward to and not long to TGS for more exciting news. also for those that play MAG check out the MAG blog for infor about a new beta happening next week. Roll on September when move launches and TGS is on so we will have FF13 versus and The last guardian news to ponder over and probably some new firmware features as Sony ramps up the heat on M$ by another 1000 degrees. Even kotaku are responding positively. ironic that they have GT5 advertisements all over their site. lol. good times, good times.

People are actually surprised/excited that there WILL be a Resistance 3? I remember when Resistance: FoM was announced that it as to be but the first in a trilogy of games… Same with Assassin's Creed yet I hear people constantly surprised/amazed these games became franchises instead of just one-offs…
Anyways, I hope they get rid of the lame aspects from R2 and go back to how things were in R:FoM. The whole dual weapon carry crap is so stupid, the absolute worst thing Halo ever did for the FPS/Shooter genre…
As for ME2/3, eh, couldn't really care less for them, wasn't impressed w/ ME1 on PC, wasn't impressed enough to worry about ME2 when it first came out.
HOLY DAMN! Insomniac, you guys rock for giving me this, but why was it not at E3? That's all I want to know. Make me wait an extra two months. FOR SHAME.
Sure, we all knew that Resistance 3 was coming, but I am so excited that it's now official. Just give me some info. Who we playing, when and where? Will it focus on the story as much as the first two, or will attention be drawn away for more co-op and online segments? Ahh, you know what, I don't care, just give me a release date and I'll do my damnedest to have it on that day.
R&C: A41, not sure about. I still haven't gotten around to purchasing ACiT (not for lack of desire), but I want to know whether it will have a single player campaign at all. It certainly doesn't seem that way. I'll need to find out more about it before making up my mind.
Also, these two trailers will be first on my list to watch next time I go to see my sister and get a netconnect I can actually watch videos on.
Also*2, I wrote a post in the Mass Effect thread explaining why I will probably not get it, but forget to check whether I was still connected. In short, too many other RPGs to play and not enough time.

I'm a big fan of Ratchet and Clank. My brother is a big fan of Resistance. This news is more fun than excitement. That's right. Playstation rocks.
dam, i was hoping for a full fledged sequel for R&C not some MP patch!
i really wish insomniac would just do a R&C collection, that would be 10 times better, sell 100 times better, and cost 10000 times less than R3 and R&C!
ok, i guess R3 is ok as long as they bring back the god dam weapon wheel!!!!!!!!!!!!
nothing pisses me off more than when a game forces me to only have 2 guns.
bring back the weapon wheel, bring back 2 player offline co-op, and give us some really cool new insomniac styled crazy weapons!
the buzz saw was such a cool addition to R2, id love to see a bolt gun with a insomniac twist!
I believe they are releasing a R&C collection with 4 games.
I agree with brining back the co-op campaign for R3, i think it's the reason R2 is so ignored. Which is a shame.

Online co-op!!! There just haven't been enough co-op games imo. Platformers are probably the funnest co-op games of all time.
Resistance 3! Nice trailer and it looks like they're heading to the East (NYC). Can't wait!
New multiplayer Rachet sounds great! This industry needs more games with a good local coop dynamic. LBP ftw.
Lets just hope they bring back local coop for R3 too. That single feature made R1 great for me, and ruined R2 for me.
