Okay, there are two pieces of news here…up to you to decide which is bigger.
If you're really looking forward to Medal of Honor and are convinced it'll be the intense, authentic experience EA is promising, you might be considering the upcoming special edition of the game. It is indeed on the way, even if we're not sure of the contents or price just yet. How do we know? Because EA spilled the beans along with another tidbit of information: the impending arrival of another Battlefield ! According to EA's EA's Twitter page , you can get into the beta for Battlefield 3 if you pre-order and/or purchase the limited edition for Medal of Honor :
"Big news for @Battlefield fans: The special edition of @MedalOfHonor will come with free entry into the @Battlefield 3 beta!"
Maybe MoH can indeed be a true-blue contender for FPS of the year, even if it has to compete with the likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops and Halo: Reach . But we already know how great the Battlefield franchise is; hell, Bad Company 2 is in the driver's seat for the best FPS of 2010 right now, right? If not, it's darn close. And the news of a third entry in the series isn't exactly surprising, but it's still cool.
Related Game(s): Medal of Honor
Ima get MOH THEN
Although thats a very good incentive, I just dont consider it a a full price purchase based on my experience with the beta :/
FPS, FPS, FPS… system overload.
Come on World, there's many FPS to choose from and that's a good thing.
I suppose, but other genres are starving for attention.
True.
It's whatever floats one's boat, but I feel a little sad for folks when I look at their collection and it contains 90% FPS games.
I just clicked and nothing happened!!!
Haha
Would have been more interesting to hear that you got into the beta for being a playstation plus member.
I didn't have any plans to preorder moh and shooters aren't high enough on my list to make me purchase one so I can beta the next.
they also said the free game trial is a plus feature but now they have a free trial for section 8 as a regular psn member download. i'm starting to feel that the psn plus subscription i paid for a little disappointing.
I think there's still plenty of value in PS plus, but I think it will take a little while for them to start having some serious early demo's on a regular basis.
I just think that getting a beta for pre-ordering another game is dumb. If I'm getting a beta for pre-ordering something I'd rather it be the game I'm pre-ordering than some game I might not have any interest in.
Pay for Beta! I remember one time I rented a beta instead of a VHS tape, that was a sad sad day.
LOL!
I thought the upgraded version of the PS2 game was going to be a part of the ps3 LE, or is that part of the standard product…
I'm confused, answers someone?
Peace.
right now they're having only limited editions available at launch like they did with the bad company 2 release. even though all retail copies are labeled as limited edition, the medal of honor frontline game only comes with the ps3 version.
i just found it wierd that EA went on stage on sonys conference and told people that the limited edition is exclusive to the ps3. but now they made the limited edition available to all platforms but the only difference now is frontline is exclusive to ps3. they couldve just said that every copy of medal of honor would have the beta but kept the limited edition exclusive to ps3.
best FPS of 2010?
more like most disappointing FPS of 2010!
why did they have to change the game so much?
remove delta squad, remove the name battlefield bad company 2 and you would not know its a sequel to 2007s best shooter!
as for BF3 i thought it was suppose to be a PC exclusive?
oh, great looks like im going to have to wait till 2056 to play a game that pushes my gaming PC to the limit!
im sick of games being watered down for out of date consoles!
Whine whine just leave psxextreme already!!
if your not going to add anything constructive to the conversation please dont bother!
He's not adding anything constructive to the conversation? You never add anything constructive to anything you talk about. All you do is cry about such small problems (or non-problems, as they often are) and to top all that off, you're incredibly hypocritical and change your opinion in the blink of an eye. If that's not constructive then I don't know what is.
This is extremely good incentive. Really depends on what the game gets for a review and how much the special addition costs
I can't imagine the beta for Battlefield 3 will be accessible for months to come, but its still good to know that its in the works. BFBC2 is definitely my favorite shooter in awhile. However, almost everything I've read about the beta for MOH has been negative. I know its just a beta but its still disappointing, I hoping it turns out well but am pretty skeptical at this point.
As for as FPS overload goes, there's obviously no question that the genre has a disproportionately high number of games being made which, makes me feel kind of bad for people that don't really dig shooters, but grateful that, as a relative fan, I have so many choices. Of course, I'll play anything that's good, but I'm drawn to online fps' generally.
