H.A.W.X. 2 Demo Lifting Off Soon, Will Boast “New Features”

You know, flight games are still around. In fact, there have been several decent ones this generation.

That being said, we're hoping that Ubisoft takes the next step beyond "decent" and provides us with a true gem in Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 . The original was good so perhaps the sequel will be amongst the elite titles of 2010; it'll soar onto shelves nationwide on September 3. To get a taste of the high-flying goodness, Ubisoft has announced that a demo will be on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace in "the middle of August." Game Content Director Bogdan Bridinel told Strategy Informer that this demo will give you the chance to test a few of the game's new features. This may include taking off, landing, mid-air refueling, and yes, possibly even 4-player co-op.  Said Bridinel:

"At least on consoles, there will be a demo before the launch of the game. The demo will be online sometime in the middle of August, I'm afraid I do not know the exact date. All I know is that we've already built it. The demo will feature (sic) some of the new features we talked about earlier. Hope you will enjoy it!"

For the record, the PC version of the game will launch a week or two after the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions hit stores. With a definite nod to authenticity, perhaps H.A.W.X. 2 will be exactly what the flight enthusiasts crave, and we've heard that even if you don't like simulators, you can still have fun with different modes. We'll definitely have to try that demo next month.
