The game isn't slated to arrive until November 2 and yet, pre-orders for the hefty special edition continue to rise at a rapid rate. At Amazon , the Collector's Edition has risen 28% in the past week , which places it at #60 in the retailer's video game branch. If you didn't already know, this edition features the game, an exclusive limited edition 4:3 scale die-cast 2009 Nissan GT-R Spec V with custom GT livery, a key chain, a 300-page guide for all hardcore car enthusiasts, a numbered certificate of authenticity, a voucher for five exclusive cars with custom GT logos and performance upgrades and of course, that custom packaging. You can have it all for $99.99 if you're so inclined. Typically, such editions are reserved for those who are really big fans of the game/series in question, but if you qualify, the rewards can be significant.
Oh, and remember how they just announced the LittleBigPlanet 2 Collector's Edition ? It's already sitting pretty at #2 on Amazon's best-selling video game list, you can grab that one for only $79.99 and you get a horde of great stuff . Who's ready to crack open the wallet?

GT5 CE looks like a godsend for those who like it. I know a guy at work who's not a huge gamer, but he's definitely getting this one. Bought his PS3 three years ago in hopes for GT5. I'm glad fans like that can get something special like this. They deserve it.
I've got a few friends who have ther PS3s still in ther boxes just waiting for GT5.
Sony better have enough PS3 ready for November because it's gonna sell every single PS3 available on November.
I have a suspicion that Sony may try to limit supply a little until October and then release the floodgates.
Build demand, launch tons of awesome games in multiple genre, create irresistable bundles and open the floodgates. The result? Monster big sales.
I'm holding out for the Ultimate Edition. Just waiting on the details. Already have LBP2 CE ordered.
As soon as the Ultimate Edition is announced I will probably go for it too. My wife wants a copy of GT5 for herself, so I'll get both, give her the game and keep all the extra goodies for me…I love being married to a gamer.
Is there any news of an Ultimate Edition? Or are y'all assuming there will be one? I'm not being a naysayer, I'm just curious because I would be interested in one.
There has been some rumor of it appearing in Europe, but nothing definitive yet. I'm happy to stick with the CE in the meantime, and if there isn't an ultimate edition, the CE will be perfect.
It has been discussed that there will be an Ultimate Edition. One of the senior level managers from SCE France commented on it. He said it would be a lot of stuff relating to cars and racing but that he didn't have the specifics on it. No proper announcement yet and not sure what regions will get it. I'm just hoping something is announced for North America. We've got plenty of time until November comes.

I'm off only with the game. It's been 5 years and I still can't wait for it. Happiest year since PS3 launch.

I must say that 4:3 scaled model of Nissan GT-R is going to be pretty damn huge. Better start making some space for it :]

Holy smokes! A toy replica 3 quarters the size of the real car (4:3)?…But then look at those game boxes! They must be taller than a 3 story house! Where the heck am i gonna keep those?!?! LOL!
its been a while since i did math, but i believe first number is actual size…. meaning 33% bigger than actual car. that means super huge model for only $20 extra!

If you know someone with a credit or debit card you could pre order it from Amazon. They don't charge the card until it actually ships. That would give you time to pay the person before the release date.

I pre ordered the CE's for both of these games.The GT5 is mine and the LBP2 is for my daughter. She should be surprised by what comes with the LBP2 CE, so I'm keeping my mouth shut about it until it arrives.

Amazon's CE kinda sounds better than Gamespot's. I'll definitely pre-order it from Amazon ASAP. I think the 500 page manual > Carbon fiber McLaren. The more information/tips, etc. you can obtain for GT games the better off you'll be.

Media molecule said that everything from lbp1 will work with the sequel with improved graphics and what not but everything from lbp2 won't work with the original. Hope that helps!
I will not be getting the collectors edition, I might not even be getting the game O_o simulators were never really my thing but if I have the time and money I wouldn't mind adding a decent one to my collection.
That's how it is for me too. I'm balls at racing sims but I'll be damned if Prologue isn't in my collection. Thanks of course goes out to WalMart for the pricing error on that one.
Yesterday the LBP 2 collectors edition was #1 on amazon, ahead of all shooters and even Starcraft 2, pretty dang impressive for only being on the site for a day.

I can't wait the the GT5 ce to show up. I just hope Sony has planty of PS3 on store shelves. Because both these games are going to sell like crazy and move what Sonys PS are left on the shelves.
Both of these games are going to be absolutely amazing and the best part is, it's only on the console that does everything.
Got both games set :D. On a different topic I was browsing the internet when I came about an article about infamous 2. Boy does Mr.Sterling and those folks over there hate the series itself. In their eyes Cole is a douche and will forever be a douche.
GT5, LBP2, Killzone 3, Last Guardian, Infamous 2, Motorstorm Apocalypse….all day 1 purchases for me. November will push the sales of PS3, no doubt. Hope America will come from Limbo (saw Inception movie yesterday) and see there's more than Halo, Fable or Gears

Why gamestop? I Pre ordered my GT5 CE from Amazone with releaese date shipping(cost $115 w/ tax). I can't wait for Nov. 2nd to finaly be here . I just now have to get a 3D tv and G25 racing wheel in time for it's arrival.

I have a DFGT wheel and i dont plan on updating any time soon. G25s are pricey and i just dont care enough about the extra features to justify the price.
I'm not going to 3d any time soon. Or ever if i can help it. The 3d fad needs to die a quick lonely death. Maybe then we'll see some good action movies that arent ruined with post-process 3d.

Amazon has free 5 day shipping, But I went for the Day release date shipping with GT5. I just can't wait for it to be here I been waiting years and years for it.

Ah! I want that LBP2 pre-order. Is this offer exclusive to Amazon? I'm in New Zealand and it's awfully pricey with sipping plus the exchange rate. If it became available here I would buy that, no hesitation.

LBP2 is a definite for me but GT5 I'll most likely pass on. Game looks good but never been a fan of the series and not big on racing games either.
