Are We Nearing A Starhawk Unveiling?

We were big fans of Warhawk and it remains one of the best multiplayer experiences available.

This is why we're all sorts of interested in Lightbox Interactive's new project. Lightbox is comprised of ex-Incognito members, including Dylan Jobe, who has recently updated his Twitter page with some encouraging information. Firstly, he says the team has encountered a "milestone freeze," saying they still have plenty to "iron out" before they make the delivery to Sony next week. Then he writes that things are "professing (yes, he means progressing) very well" and their next playtest "should be great." Now, we've all sort of assumed that they're working on Starhawk , the spiritual successor to the aforementioned online multiplayer game. Past rumors have said it'll play similarly to Warhawk , but it will be based in outer space and it'll also boast a single-player campaign. That would've been cool to have in Incognito's game, but we still had a blast winging about online. We're also hoping this update means Jobe will be able to talk more about the project very soon…

Anyway, we'll let you know if we hear anything. In the meantime, keep crossing your fingers for an impending unveiling of another great PlayStation 3 exclusive!

Another game full of quality

And it's not a FPS
Variety is what truly defines the Playstation experience!

Battle it out in space!
Can't wait to see what it's like

They've been working on this since 2008, no?…

Too be honest, I don't want another warhawk if it would mean that they would be the developer to work on Star Wars Battlefront 3. Using their expertize in the genre of nice big online games and such, they would make it so amazing. Sigh, it's just me wishing there was a followup to the best Star Wars game made on consoles…other than rogue squadron on the 64 =P

True! The Star Wars Battlefront series was incredible and a PS 3 version of this would be great.

But I am really looking forward to a Warhawk sequel!

So we're in space since MAG has the ground war covered? (Will there be "ground" combat?)

That would be aesome if there is ground battles aswell. WarHawk was the fist game I played on my PS3. I picked it up with the $600 60gig. I hope that is what they anounce. Commented on my PS3

For me, Warhawk is the most addictive game on the PS3. It's also the most frustrating. I stopped playing for about 7 or 8 months, and when I went back I couldn't stay alive longer than 5 minutes.

Starhawk, if this is truly the game Lightbox is working on, will take up all my gaming hours for the first six months of its release, as long as it's anywhere near the quality of Warhawk.

Warhawk has some serious air/ground unbalances

If one team has the air fully controlled it's impossible for your team to come back at all.

I hope that in Starhawk your team is actually dynamic and balanced.

I understand that the air-combat is the biggest part of the game. But if that's true then just make it an air-combat game.

Hate it when it's just nearly impossible to come get back into the fight when the other team has the air under control. At least give us a lot of anti-air weapons…

Still a fun game, one of the best multiplayer experiences for a long time. Very addictive too.

They should have done something to fix it, even ending the round early based on team score would make it a little bit more bearable. It really takes two people targeting a warhawk to successfully bring them down on a regular basis, which is kinda crappy. And then once you bring someone down you can almost expect a guided missle to hit you soon after.

I was never that good at flying, although I wasn't bad. but when I came back to the game after taking a break, I couldn't do anything in the air. I would get shot down almost immediately. I got better at ground combat, but to be really good at this game you have to be able to fly.

I did notice that the only time I would finish at the top was in smaller maps with less players. I don't know why, but I was much better in servers that had a 16 player limit. Less comotion, I guess.

I have never once lasted more than about a minute in the air. I don't even bother to get in a Warhawk anymore except as a quick means to get from point A to point B.

If "Starhawk" doesn't have ground combat, I will sadly not be getting it.

I just recently played Warhawk after more than a year of not playing it. I really got destroyed. It didn't help that I was trying to use Uncharted controls..

I might have purchased warhawk had it included single player. I guess if starhawk works out well and has SP I'll consider getting it, but MP online isn't my big thing, so it's a wait and see for me.

Playing Warhawk with your Server List set to "Worldwide" you can still find some great players and teamwork, headset or not.

Starhawk? Damn, I'm ready to give up on that…

Man i love warhawk, i have it downloaded and installed on my PS3. I always play on CTF mode with 16 vs 16. I just stay on defense if the team i am on is bad or over run by enemy air crafts. But i hate how it can glicth when i shoot and hit a enemy plane in a tank and they take no damage.
I hope that this game that they are working turns out nicely.

Warhawk is still one of my favorite PS3 games. It is the oldest ps3 game I have. Sharhawk will be an addition.

Warhawk is great. It's quite a blast flying about, the planes have excellent controls. I just hope this new one can live up to the expectations of the rest of the Warhawk crowd.

i love warhawk, after the tutorial addition of course. i couldnt stay alive long enough before so i shelved it. but after that i could dog fight with the rest of them. the only thing i hated about warhawk was the damn level system. you need to earn point plus accomplish requirements. i got stuck on one and just stopped playing. some of their requirement are just freakin hard to do.

Warhawk was amazing. I just love how everyone is saying it's so hard to get back into it after you've been out of the game a while…. Because it's so true.

But you give me a SP and I am HOOKED!!
