Okay, so you've pre-ordered Gran Turismo 5 by now, right? …what, you haven't? Need more incentive?
Well, GT5 is all about the cars. So we need super special cars as pre-order bonuses, right? The latest info shows us three sweet cars that will be available through GameStop and Best Buy. If you pre-order at GameStop, you'll net the slick McLaren F1 Stealth, which has been customized for "increased performance" with a sports weight reduction and even more power (are they insane?!). There's also that cool "Stealth" carbon fiber paint scheme. But also, you'll get the Joey Logano Nationwide NASCAR series car so if you plan to really indulge in the NASCAR angle of GT5, this is a great option. Amazon is only offering one car, but it ain't too bad: it's the Mercedes-Benz SLS Stealth; the specs and stats aren't known but it features the same black "Stealth" presentation as the special McLaren, along with similar modifications. Right now, we only know about the pre-order bonuses for these two retailers, although we imagine others will soon toss their hats into the ring; what might the likes of Best Buy and Wal-Mart have to offer?
Man, anybody remember the McLaren F1 in Need for Speed II ? That thing was just plain loopy . It seemed loopier because I think NfSII was the first in the series to feature traffic, and 220 m.p.h. amongst regular traffic is…LOL.
Related Game(s): Gran Turismo 5
I didn't know that carbon fiber was a paint scheme. 😉
I know that Amazon will be cheaper than Best Buy and GameStop, unless you have store credit. I don't care for the MB SLS, though. I would have pre-ordered by now but I'm waiting for more incentives to show up just before release. Regardless, I'll be picking this game up no matter what. Vroom vroom.

I haven't decide where to pre order this, but something really funny, I went to sams club the other day and was browsing the video game section. At sams they don't put the consoles on the floor you have to take this plastic board to the register and have them bring it to you.
Well I noticed one of them is for a ps3 bundle, it doesn't say preorder says its for sale and it lists the bundle as a regular slim 120GB ps3, uncharted Drake's fortune, and gran turismo 5. I keep laughing every time I see it.
I'm pretty sure they don't actually have it and the workers there are too ignorant to know the difference, but I've considered taking it up there and demanding they let me buy it.
In case you're wondering it doesn't say GT5 prologue, it just says Gran Turismo 5, no prologue anywhere, believe me I checked.
I think I've seen this type of advert but it turns out it's for GT5 prologue, not the full GT5. Could be the same issue where you saw it?
Already have my CE GT5 pre-ordered and then some from Gamestop.
Regardless, I think that all cars will available for everyone.
I also think these "stealth" cars show us what to expect with the customization features of GT5.
We should see in GT Auto a body shop, paint shop, and livery shop. These of course will compliment the features from GT4.
I'm hopeful because we know for sure the customization is going to be at least "better" than GT4. While I'm not expecting NFS in-depth body kits, or Forza's crazy paintings, I hope there will be some sort of body kits and custom paintings.
Anyway, I got my pre-order all set from Amazon. Free shipping, but $8.60 for tax. Can't wait.
Preordered my CE from Gamestop because Amazon was taking too long to put the CE up on their site.
Plus, I traded in a bunch of old games and got almost $50 credit towards the preorder! Nice.

I don't expect the body kits to be at NFS level, but I do see a splitter, wing, and side panels.
However, I do expect a paint/livery system due one observation. The liveries on the cars in game will scratch off. That tells me that they are not modeled into the car themselves.

Nice. I am trying to get some Platinums out of the way so I can do the very same thing. I have it pre-ordered, but since I am buying two of them, trade ins are a must!
I want to preorder but I'm still waiting to hear on what the 'Ultimate' Edition will have compared to the 'Collector' Edition. Anyone have any info on the former?
Not yet. But if my memory serves me correctly, the ultimate edition from GT4 was something special..
Some articles around the web don't say the contents but they keep throwing a near 200 euro or 200 plus dollar amount for the cost. At that price part me thinks they may be throwing in a racing wheel but then again high end racing wheels are shy of 300 dollars. Hopefully we hear more info on it soon.
I plan on staying with the CE GT5 unless the ultimate version blows me away..
Perhaps a GT5 racing helmet will be included.
Gamestop or BestBuy it is, then. I prefer MB over McLaren, and I'm not crazy on how GS does their business, but I have to have GT5 day 1.
Already pre-ordered GT5 from Gamestop since September 2009 lol Just changed it last month for the CE edition.
Can't wait!!!

Well, I don't need incentive to pre-order, but I do need money… Oh well, I still have a few months to get some. I'd rather have a cool WRC car, because WRC >> NASCAR.
Haven't heard anything about an Ultimate edition, but the Collector's edition is already pre-ordered through Amazon.
Folks, if you claim to like racing sims, own a PS3 and *haven't* pre-ordered this yet, may I ask you in the name of all that's holy, why haven't you pre-ordered this yet!?
I'm not even a racing game fan, really. I'm getting this day 1. There is something about GT that has always appealed to me.
I've only ever pre-ordered one game (Burnout Paradise) and currently live 180km from the nearest store that actually lets you place pre-orders. Is that a good enough reason?
Peace.
@Lawless,
LOL! Well, I guess so. However let me tell you a short story. When Burnout Paradise came out it was a pre-order for us because we'd been playing the demo to death, and the Japanese demo version with the second car. 'We' being my wife and I. When we got the game we both liked it so much that we literally had to go get a second PS3 along with a second copy of Burnout Paradise because we were fighting over game time. Burnout Paradise made my wife a racing game fan. So I do understand why you wanted to pre-order Burnout Paradise.
Personally, having played GT2, GT3(A-Spec), GT4, GTHD and GT5P, I'm more than ready for GT5, and despite the long wait, I feel as compelled to pre-order as I did with Burnout Paradise.
But, I don't think I could make a 360KM round trip just to do a pre-order. No mail-order/online retailer you can use?
~Long Life
I wonder whats the 5 cars in the CE?
I can't wait for it to finally be here.
yea i already preordered the special edition.
good to know im getting a mclaren lol.
had no idea
HA! like i'll ever buy from Gamestop. Sure it's a beautiful car but it aint worth my soul.
No sign of anything but the standard edition in the UK. Also, no pre order bonuses. 🙁
I preordered it at a Dutch gamestore called Gamemania, it doesn't get me anything but some points and if I get enough points at that store I get a 15 euro coupon.
best part about this is EB here normally end up with ALL the preorder bonuses!
with MNR instead of getting either ratchet, drake or kratos i got all 3.
hopefully they will do the same with GT5, they normally do.
now all i need is a decent racing wheel, harvey norman wanted 400 for the G27 hopefully it gets a decent price drop once GT5 comes out.
ebay is not much cheaper either, and i will never be touching that hell hole ever again!
ebay = scam of the century!
EB? really? as in the store now rebranded to Game?
I'm preordered with Play and where incentives are involved they normally only give one.
I might have to change my preorder.
no, game and EB are 2 different retailers.
game are independent, where as EB are owned by gamestop.
Ha! Umm, no. As awesome as GT5 is destined to be, and as hard as I am going to try to pick it up day 1, I cannot justify placing a preorder, regardless of the bonuses I might recieve. Still, good for those people that are interested in in-game goodies (Me, not so much, I can deal with the game as is.)
Peace.
LOL you said LOL
anyway, a McLaren with less weight and more power. Is that technically possible. and if it is in the real world less stick that in a drag race against the Bugatti Veyron SS. that would be amazing.
I think many have seen the Top Gear episode where richard drag races the normal versions of both those cars and it was a good race. (it was. the veyron only won because it could get past the McLaren. the McLarnen has the faster acceleration)

I pre-ordered the standard edition from Amazon. You also get $10 credit towards your next game purchase, so that's a pretty good deal. I downloaded some video in GT5 Prologue yesterday about the Merceded SLS, I guess Yamauchi drives it around the 'Ring or something. I should watch that sometime 🙂
I really want to pre-order this.
But i read about an ultimate edition coming out for around £100 which would include a Die cast nissan gtr, GT Booklet and various other things which sounded rather awsome.
So i dont want to pre-order the game and then have this come out abit later.
Has anyone else heard about this and maybe know when it will be released??
The collectors edition contains those goodies ,the ultimate has yet to be disclosed.
Gonna wait to see if I can pre-order from Best-Buy (will have to see what their CE offers though)
I just refuse to buy stuff from Gamestop
But wow that carbon fiber McLaren looks sick… Wonder of the Mercedes-Benz SLS is as good as the McLaren? Probably not
Any info about a G27 bundle. Or if there Is a better wheel coming out?
