Normally, I don't like it when people complain about load times; they're typically not long enough to complain about unless you can't sit still for 20 seconds.
But Killzone 2 did feature some abnormally long load times, which is why one often hears gamers complaining about this drawback. But as you know by now, Guerrilla is really working to push the franchise forward; to produce yet another defining FPS. To do that, one must certainly progress on a technical and artistic level; the technical aspects were pretty amazing in KZ2 but again, those load times… So the developers are on top of things: according to managing director Herman Hulst , the new Killzone might not even have loading screens.
"We're excited what the PS3 can do for us and what we can do for it… (speaking of loading screens), literally everything is streamed now."
This means that Killzone 3 should follow in the footsteps of the current technological trend-setters; the likes of God of War III and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves didn't have any loading screens, either (once the game was loaded, of course). Hey, if you want to be considered among the elite, you had best perform like the elite!
