Jaffe: “Sweet Tooth PSN Thing” Is A Movie, Not A Game

If you don't keep up with David Jaffe's Twitter page , you're likely to miss out on a few juicy tidbits.

The latest comes in reference to the rumor that Jaffe either wanted to make – or already was making – a special game based entirely on the character of Sweet Tooth. Jaffe wanted to clarify those rumors and as it turns out, the truth might be even more interesting than a game (hey, we're already getting Twisted Metal , right?): in fact, Jaffe might make a "low-budget slasher movie" exclusively for the Network and obviously designed to cater to long-time fans of the TM franchise. The two tweets in question-

"By the way, the Sweet Tooth PSN thing I want us to do is a MOVIE on PSN, like THE TESTER in terms of exclusive PSN programming…not a game."

"I want us to make an honest to goodness, low budget slasher movie and sell it on PSN exclusive. Peeps saying we are making a PSN Sweet Tooth GAME got it wrong."

You may remember that Jaffe was one of the panel members in the PSN original show, "The Tester," so maybe he got this idea from that. The concept of movies based on games, made by those who created the games, isn't necessarily a bad one, and the fans might really appreciate it. Of course, we have no clue when he'd find the time to do this; Twisted Metal will likely occupy his entire schedule between now and the time it launches. Still…interesting.

2nd thumbs up. Then changed it to down (12th).

Ben, what is a tidbit? It's 'titbit'. We should rejoice in the fact that we can use naughty words and there ain't a damn thing "the man" can do about it!

Awesome!

I also agree that a movie made by those who created the game is way more interesting than letting Hollywood mainstream the crap out of it.

This would be pure, fun fanservice!

I'd buy it if they make it.

I'd pay 5-10 dollars for it. I've been playing Black again and I definitely love Sweet Tooth for a movie. Also I remembered TM Black being hard, but holy crap is that game difficult!

This is awesome. I'm a huge horror fan and I always thought Sweet Tooth would make a great slasher killer. A decent horror movie can be made fairly quick with the right resources. Something I Jaffe may have. But one thing. NO CGI GORE! Keep it practical.

I'm not surprised, David Jaffe did have the dream to become a Film Director but got denied to a film school in LA before heading to games. Or so I've heard.

I'm really glad they are doing this, I hope Jaffe will be able to be behind most of the creation process. A film/special by him would truly be amazing. I'm sold!
