John-ShepardPlayStation Home offered you the chance to peruse Sony's virtual E3 booth, but that's hardly where the new Home expansions end.
Everything just keeps getting better. After 250,000 gamers connected to Home to check out the PlayStation E3 booth (in comparison to the total 45,600 actual show visitors), Sony has released a new update for the ever-expanding social connection service. As of now, they say there are 14 million users in Home, and those participants can try any one of 100 available games, 50 "discreet public and private spaces," and over 5,000 virtual items on sale in the stores. And a bunch of new stuff is on the way, too, including a new personal space inspired by Disney-Pixar's Toy Story 3 ; it's called "Andy's Room" and brings you inside the entertaining world of Buzz Lightyear and friends. Exclusive Home items based on the movie will also be available to purchase, and for the very first time, you'll have the option to play music in your own personal space, or in the clubhouses with the Playground Boombox. There's more stuff than ever to explore and by now, you could spend quite some time exploring within Home.

Aw, I thought you meant custom music in Home spaces, then I read the official PS Blog post and it's just that background music that plays in one of the spaces. You can buy a stereo and that same music will play in yer Home space or a Clubhouse, lame! I want custom music and video already that I can listen to WITH friends at the same time. That huge screen has been up in the Clubhouse for ever and it does nothing. I started a Lost club at the end of season 4 of Lost and the show is over and there never was any changes to the pointless Clubhouses.

I still do not begin to understand why I can't listen to the music on my HDD when I am in my personal spaces. I understand their problems in public spaces, but in a private space? It's not like the streaming bitrate for others in Home is of a quality that merits recording.
I was one of the 250,000 that went the the E3 space in Home.
For E3 2011, I want to see live broadcasts of the show and playable demo's.
That would make PS Home a bonafied hit..
I checked out the E3 space in home also it was prety nice, but I was ecpecting full videos of anouncements and even live footage.

Home still doesn't work for me, errors up every time.

world do you mean it errors when you try to start home? i had a problem with home after an update so i had to hit triangle and delete the home install. not the save files but on the home icon itself. it also happened to a buddy of mine, he said his wouldnt work so i had him do that and it worked. just delete and reinstall it. hope that works.
If it's not a network issue – such as an overly restrictive router, then it is something to do with your installation of Home or the HDD. Delete the Home installation, use the system recovery menu to restore your FILE system (be careful, there is another similarly named option that restores everything to factory defaults – you don't want that option). Then re-download Home and proceed.
Ive tried deleting it and reinstalling, doesn't help. It IS one of those network errors, but I can't figure any way to fix it. All known usable ports are open for the PS3 and I'm getting a NAT type 2. The media server is off and everything else works but Home.

lol, like a car in the shop. I booted it up to see the error number and now it works.
BTW everybody, it says today is the last day for the E3 space.
LOL! That's the story of my life when I did PC support. User would phone in with a problem, they wouldn't have all the information to hand, so I would wander to their desk to take a look, by the time I'd get there either it was already working (and the fault would not repeat) or I would arrive and ask them to show me the error, at which time it would work perfectly. I would announce that I had laid hands upon the machine and through the mystic ares of BS it was fixed… At least it got a laugh or two. Then I'd explain that with PCs getting more and more complex software errors were bound to occur, and were not always repeatable, etc…
Home is very complex, the PS3 is quite complex, and it all depends on the Net which – in the last couple of weeks – has seemed incredibly flaky and slow. So you know, errors occur….
lol, tell me about it. I've teched a lot of computers and sometimes I don't even know how I fixed em.
I'm not surprised, I know a lot of people who mostly get a ps3 for watching Blue Ray movies. Then they stumble upon Home and become addicts lol
I got so far behind in Home that nearly everywhere I want to go I have to download. And downloading a room on home takes an eternity and a half and no, it's no my internet, my internet is great. If Home had more to offer I would be a much bigger fan, going into it I expected it to expand with newer and more interesting content just as the PSN did. Well, it's safe to say that was a false assumption as it did not make the strides I wanted/expected
You do realize that you can use the navigation menu to select the areas you want to download and let it download them while you do something else in Home. It's not home so much as it is your impatience that is your problem here.
I just gotta test this..

I stay firmly in the middle ground. But it's obviously worthy of existing cuz that damn thing is always full. Saw a guy in a Tron outfit tonight at the E3 event.

And judging by how many people participated, the fictional third option should've been, "How many people think this survey is stupid?"
This second life rip off was the worst thing SONY ever did imo. Worst still it's somehow lured 14 million.
More games please, some HD remakes would be a worthy substitute rather than more brainwashing HOME add ons.
Since there is a separate team for home I don't think any part of Sony is getting the shaft for them working on Home. Besides it might bring in some revenue for the first party studios to keep cranking out tasty exclusives.

ive never really seen the appeal with home, i mean what is the point of walking around a virtual world and talk to your friends?
its much more fun and productive going for a walk to the shops and talk to your friends on the way.
i did not realize how many immature f*cks have a ps3 till i signed into home.
not to mention every time you enter a new area you have to sit there for half a hour waiting for it to download.
not to mention its extremely slow!
i tried to watch E3 last year through home, but every 3 words jack got out the stupid video would pause to buffer.
after 15 minutes i got frustrated and turned my laptop on, hooked it up to the TV and watched it that way.
To DeathofChaos, hate gaming? I think you blew my post way out of proportion. I love gaming. i just don't fancy HOME, Move/Kinect & all this gimmicky crap. But hey that's just me, doesn't mean i hate gaming. Not sure where you pulled that from.

I have never come across anything more useless and disappointing than HOME. I hate it. I downloaded it, and then uninstalled it because of the stupidity of it. I see no point.
I was thinking about redownloading home for a 3rd time and see if my feelings have changed. Just not sure if it will. I know there are some new rooms since I've been on it so maybe it'll have something to hook me.
