Ben-DutkaWardevil has sort of turned into the Duke Nukem of consoles. But perhaps the saga of ongoing emptiness won't reach 2011.
First announced way back in 2005, even before the PlayStation 3 was ever on store shelves, the Digi-Guys-developed Wardevil has been lurking on the back burner for years. Many assumed it just wasn't happening but in fact, according to a confirmation during a Siliconera interview , the game is "still in development." Ignition New Business Development Director, Shane Bettenhausen said as much, so we're all wondering if the final product – supposedly set to run in full 1080p HD and 60 frames per second – might actually get a release date. Said Bettenhausen:
"We also have a studio in London. Their game was previously announced, it’s called WarDevil. That’s been in development for quite sometime. I’d would say the game is still in development, but it’s changed direction a bit."
He even says it'll be revealed "hopefully, by the end of the year." Or, actually, he says the "new direction" will be unveiled at the end of the year, so perhaps we still have a long time to wait. Who knows? At this point, I think all we really want is a launch estimate and some real footage. "Hopefully," that isn't impossible…

So what kinda game is this? I've never heard of this game. The screenshot looks nice, but with this uncertainty, maybe not representative of the finished product?

This game really doesn't exist, and I and probably most people don't give a damn either way
I'd like to know more about it. I don't know if it's a new IP or a sequel to another one but either way, until I hear something negative directly related to the actual game, when it's eventually completed, I'll keep an eye out for more info!

I've never heard of it Ben, I'd like to hear more about it, especially if it's in 1080p at 60 frames per second. That sounds like a ps3 exclusive to me, unless this is a computer game.

No one really cares about this game, its just the company trying to keep their name out there
Even Duke Nukem is "Forever" worried that this game will never see a pre-apocalyptic light of day.
Didn't you lads do a preview of this way back when? I know you've definitely posted something about it. One question. Why are y'all striking it down as vapourware with a six year dev cycle? Have you never heard of GT5? Might be interesting, but I'm not likely to get it. Unless, of course, I see something about it that piques my interest.

I think i heard of this game before, but i can't remember though the name sounds very familiar.
this is a real game it was supossed to be ps3 launch game but faild the deadline. this games been on gamestops web page then taken down. if you go to there site you can watch the trailer but no date and there just seems to be so much visual updating that they need to constantly add to it but it will come out sooner or later. 🙂

I never even heard anything about it until a some time ago when ______ mentioned it, I looked it up, the only thing I know is that it's gonna play like GOW but with 1080p HD and 60 fps.
It's PS3 exclusive as well but so far, there's no gameplay footage.
Am I the only thinking that they're saying it's gonna run at 1080p and 60 fps just to get some attention to this game?

I could imagine most games like this would have a "changed direction" after the release of GoW3 =p …. the graphics, oh for the love of man the graphics…..
Anyhow, I'm so leery these days when reading about 1080p….
It's an abused often misunderstood term that hasn't translated to games that actually render at true 1920×1080 pixel resolutions.
Props to Super Stardust HD. The dudes who programmed that shooter initially had the game running at a sub-1080p res.. but now having learned some SPU tricks for 3D output the latest patch for the game has it running at a true 1080p. Woo hoo!
apparently this was shown off behind closed doors at GDC this year and yes it was running in full HD 60FPS.
im really looking forward to this, its looking like the game GOW3 should of been.
hopefully they dont make the same mistake GOW3 did and spend all their time on the graphics.
hopefully they put some big puzzles in the game to break up the flow of the game.
i can only spend so much time ripping people in half before it starts to get tiresome!
