Yup, there is a name connection. Anyway, they're braggin' a bit over at the PlayStation Blog , as the Gamer's Edition of the Guinness Book of World Records has recognized Sony and its products in a variety of different ways. Sony Vice President of Worldwide Studios North America, Scott Rohde, accepted new records for LittleBigPlanet (the Most User-Generated Levels at 2,463,073), Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (Best Selling PS3 Platform Game) and MAG (Most Players in a Console FPS with 256). They have to be humble about the accomplishments, though, as it's clear that without the loyal fans, none of those numbers would've existed. As the blog says, "it's you who made the levels in LBP, you who bought Uncharted 2 by the million, and you who make those MAG battles the biggest on a console." From our standpoint, Sony typically appreciates its customers and fans, and they often take time out to thank them.
So yeah, keep it up. LittleBigPlanet 2 comes out later this year and I think we all know that Uncharted 3 is in the works, so there's always a chance to set new records!

Still love my LBP level, it had what I've been looking for in platform games, NIGHT! I miss night/dark stages in v-games.
LBP2 will be amazing. The whole deal 'bout being able to use a mouse and keyboard to make levels will freshen up the Create system.
But, what about MGS4 and Snake, most cigarettes ever smoked by a video game character in a single game?

MAG: awesome, have to start playing it again. I've gotten sucked into BFBC2 and have subsequently neglected my faction (SVER), I will be back though.

LBP2 and Uncharted 3 (whenever Naughty Dog decide to release it) are both D1P games for me.
That's awesome if for no other reason than to get sony some more recognition.
I don't regret to inform you,
that Sony will NEVER, EVER be able to be even come close to competing with MS's biggest entry in the GBOWR, nor will Sony ever get a chance in the future to catch up with MS's incredible record either.
So I'm just telling you now that MS will forever hold this monumental record dearly too…..

I find this a little bit funny. LBP is one of VERY few games that actually allow a user to create levels, and unlike most other games, emphasises it, so it should already have been in the bag. There aren't a whole lot of platforming games anymore, and U2AT is definitely the top tier of what remains, so it deserved, and as for MAG, well, only the PS3 is capable of such a feat, so it wins by default.
I know, I'm being anal here, but just let me have it eh?

I wouldn't say that "Best Selling PS3 Platform Game" is an impressive achievement for Sony considering the "record" is only for Sony games.

i keep hearing there workiing on a remake of crash bandicoot!
makes sense too, you look at seria they were releasing crash games on a yearly basis but they have not released a new crash game for like 2 years!
so that leads more credibility that naughty dog have got back the rights to the series, and are bringing back the mascot of playstation!
