Ubisoft has reported their Q3 sales numbers of the fiscal year 2006/2007, and they've got plenty of good news for investors. Sales topped 311 million Euros (approximately $396 million), which is an encouraging increase of a 24% over the '05/'06 third quarter.
The mega-publisher's great performance can be attributed to higher-than-expected software sales from the likes of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas , Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent , Rayman Raving Rabbids , and Red Steel . Even though Gears of War and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess were the biggest sellers, all four aforementioned Ubisoft titles did extremely well on their respective consoles. In fact, behind Zelda , Red Steel and Rayman Raving Rabbids were the second and third-best selling games on the Wii for both the U.S. and Europe.
And thanks to the great numbers in Q3, Ubisoft has upped their sales forecasts for the fiscal year ending in March, and are now expecting an overall growth of 16%. The company also has five titles scheduled for the European launch of the PS3 in March, which should only add to their good fortune.
