The original was a worthy Game of the Year contender and we guarantee the sequel will be up to the challenge, too.
And if you want the Limited Edition of Dead Space 2 , you're going to have to own the PlayStation 3. Announced at Sony's E3 press conference, this collection will boast Dead Space Extraction in full HD, the prequel to the Dead Space story (and with support for PlayStation Move), but if you just want Extraction by itself, you can pick up the standalone copy on the PlayStation Store. The Limited Edition will come out alongside the regular version on January 25, 2011, and we know you're excited. Said Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer for Dead Space 2 :
If this doesn't get you pumped for the horrifying experience, nothing will. This is one of those games that you absolutely must try, even if it's not necessarily your thing. We have every confidence in Visceral's talents and based on what we've seen at E3, that confidence has only grown.
Related Game(s): Dead Space 2
This was a nice touch and a surprise i have to say. I have been wanting to play the Wii Dead Space and was waiting until my friend was done so i could barrow it. Now i shall wait and play it in HD with the Move.
One thing im confused about though…i thought that crappy Saturday morning cartoon looking Dead Space wannabe anime was the prequel to the original game.
Are you confusing Extraction with Downfall? Downfall is still a prequel to Dead Space but takes place after the events in Extraction.

Ahh i see. Thanks.
This shouldn't be limited. It should be like the dante's inferno Divine Edition, the only version.
That's what I was thinking, but at the very least you can't say Visceral doesn't have Sony fans in mind.
Ignore my earlier comments and question. I see now. I guess they wouldn't be able to sell Extraction through the PS Store if they were just going to make one DS2 version with it already included. My guess is $79.99 MSRP for the LE and $19.99 through the Store for Extraction.

59.99 it is. I should have stuck with my gut feeling on this one.

And this game isn't the only game that's also going to do an prior game added in HD to the new main game, exclusive on the PS3 either.
But before I say anything more about it, I'm going to let Ben put that one up first too.LOL
You're talking about the new PS3 exclusive Time Crisis: Razing including Time Crisis 4 and Deadstorm Pirates on the BD with Move support and the PS3 Medal of Honor with an HD version of MOH Frontline included?
Pretty darn sweet news when they announced it, and I thought at the time, like Hellish Devil said, that it would be like Divine Dante Edition, regular price. So can we get a price on this?
Truth be told I haven't decided on a Move yet so I could always just get Extraction off PSN later.
Overvis,
Yup it's the 2nd one, Medal of Honor.
I sent it to the site yesterday, but wanted to give them some time to see if it was going to a thread made for it.
But since it wasn't….
EA goes behind enemy lines with the special edition of Medal of Honor for PlayStation 3
In 2002, EA introduced the world to Medal of Honor:FRONTLINE, a groundbreaking game and massive hit.
The game starred a courageous young soldier, Lt. Jimmy Patterson, who fought arm-in-arm with his brothers on the German frontline during WWII.
Nearly ten years later, the franchise continues the tradition of telling the soldierâs story; this year, with Medal of Honor set in Afghanistan.
Today, Electronic Arts Inc. announced a special edition of Medal of Honor exclusive for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system that will include the classic, Medal of Honor Frontline.
Available on PlayStation 3 for the very first time, Frontline has been completely remastered in HD with improved graphics, and all of the heart-wrenching battles of the original game.

One of the reasons Sony did so well in my eyes was all the exclusive crap they're tacking on to the multiplats. This will help them a lot over the course of time of being the console more consumers choose. I see another great year ahead for them.
EA is starting lean on to Sony, the BC2 beta, Dante's Inferno all these.
It's about time someone open their eyes.
I'm just happy the new "action moments" aren't styled after Rambo.

And let me say, Dead Space 2 look absolutely fantastic. Not sure I'll spend the extra for a Wii port seeing as how I'd need a $50 motion controller but I will certainly delve into Isaac's world once again in sweet button mashing goodness.
Ohhh my god….I cannot wait for this… Resident Evil eat your heat out..
Yes, eat your 'heat'… Jamaican_Heat.
Typos do happen lol
It was a sweet typo though haha.
Banky, don't be a "jerk". 😉
Ahhh, the bad puns….

I still need to play the first one but I plan to, and then I'll be getting the limited edition of dead space 2 so I can play all of the dead space goodness.
Firs one is ace. A bit too many fetch quests but the atmosphere is a knock out. At the current price it is a must.
Holy crap, the DS2 footage is looking superb. Just too EPIC for its own good.
I will definitely be picking this up. Can't wait
Can DS:E be played on a standard controller? And do you have to download it, or is it on the disc if you get the limited edition? Tell me, I must know. Anyway, this is definitely an early purchase for me, loved the original and downfall was a right spin-out of a movie.
@BikerSaint, watchoo talking about, Jones?
Peace.
ahhhh i love sony.
they are the worlds biggest hypocrites!
just a few weeks ago they commented on M$ constantly trying to secure exclusive content and they called it "desperate" and "pathetic."
but than several weeks later here they are doing the exact same thing, announcing exclusive content for mafia 2, dead space 2 and several others.
not to mention the bullsh*t they pulled with ghostbusters now that REALLY pissed allot of people off!
sony ended up being the publisher for the game like 3 weeks before release and delayed every other version for several months.
wow, what a way to treat people.
you dont buy our version than f*ck you, you can wait 3 months.
Correct me if I'm wrong. They were talking about timed exclusivity and DLC, not on-disc content? Because that's what Sony is hitting for here. Content that comes from the devs direct, without the need of an internet connection, and without the fear of it going to another console at a later date.
And what's this about ghostbusters? If it's true that Sony published it, then the owners of the other consoles should be glad that they got it at all, and forget about the three month wait.
Peace.
Lawless, you have to excuse 'No Name'. Half the time he is butthurt about something and likes to get on here and release some estrogen. Sometimes he makes a point in between his rantings, this time however, he has no idea what he is talking about.
whats the difference?
just because its originally on disk does not mean it cant release later for other systems.
the mafia 2 ps3 edition for example is getting 4 new maps on the disk.
whats stopping 2K from releasing that for the pc and other systems down the track?
sony are hypocrite full stop, they dis someone for doing something than go and do it themselves.
not the first time theve done it either.
I'm pretty excited about getting Extraction to play with the Move. I think they may have just given me enough reasons to buy one. And Dead Space 2, what can I say?
Dead Space fanboy here, I'd pre-order it if it wasn't still months and months away.
WOW! Yes please thank you.
I've been following the conference pretty closely and haven't heard this until now.
Totally awesome!
Can't wait for this one. It will most likely come down to this and the new Silent Hill
Never played a Silent Hill game…but Dead Space is truly a diamond in the rough.
