As part of their E3 presentation, Konami has announced an all-new IP entitled Neverdead . …and it ain't normal.
Currently in development for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, this will be a third-person action game set in a "fantasy and horror-influenced universe where supernatural battles between humans and extraordinary creatures blanket a vast city landscape." You'll have a bad-ass sword and a few guns to help you carve a path to safety and as a sick little twist, the main character will be able to pick up any limbs he happens to lose in battle…and carry them with him. Said Shinji Hirano, President of Konami Digital Entertainment:
"For NEVERDEAD, we've introduced some truly exciting new forms of gameplay and sword fighting, including a unique healing mechanism originally designed and conceived by a former member of Kojima Production. Their contributions, and those of the development team, have helped forge a great new action IP to add to Konami's vast lineup."
The world is under threat of a demonic plague and it has been many years since everything has succumbed to darkness and evil. But our hero has been made immortal by demons so he has become "never dead" and has now decided to rip through those very demons that made him invincible, all the while piecing himself together as he goes. We're wondering how you actually "die" in this game, or how you get a "Game Over" screen. Beyond that, we kinda want to see some gameplay.

That sounds awesome, I really want to put my leg back on after it gets cut off.
However I'm with you Ben, how can we die if we can't be killed? lol this should be interesting.
well my theory is u get a game over if u lose all your body parts lol u might b alive but if theres just a head and torso not much is getting done
"Come back here! I'll bite your legs off!"
Cool concept,
but let's take that concept even further, by also being able to take & use some of your enemies body parts for yourself, if so needed.
Hell yeah, like you chop a demon's hand off and get to use his talons on your arm, as a weapon.
Or the ability to add extra arms and legs.
I would want to put two legs over my years and and arm on top of my head. Do that for us, Konami and that game will sell ten fold. Multiplayer slapfest FTW.
That's badass. Game over is probably when you lose too many limbs to keep going, or are beheaded.
This sounds freaken Awesome!
I was thinking the same thing bikersaint if you could use the enemies leg or arm. Now that would be cool.
This game sounds like it will be good. know we just have to wait for more info and video.
I'm already liking this idea, it was screaming Kojima before they even mentioned someone on his team was part of the deal. Can't wait to see how it all comes together (so to speak).
Maybe you just can't lose your head, or maybe they have baddies than can take your immortal soul or like Phoenix said you just can't lose them all (But it would be interesting if they gave you a little time to crawl along with your mouth to find an arm to attach).
I imagine being able to attach some seriously freaky limbs, like those in "Dead Space"
Oh, "F" yeah!!!1
Or being able to snatch some insect creatures compound optical units.
And then being able to shout out to the enemy just before slaughtering them…
"Ha' you didn't think I had all my eyes on you, did ya"?????
I'm loving the concept you guys are bringing up
Being able to use your enemy's powers depending on which body parts you take from them
I love brand new games. It's great to see Konami doing new adventure games again.
Third person, sounds good to me
Hm, I like the way Konami is shaping up lately.
Lords of Shadows could become the best 3D Castlevania and a worthy reboot of the franchise.
And now they announce a very interesting original IP.
Gonna keep my eyes on announcements of Neverdead. Concept could be taken straight from a seinen manga.
That sounds utterly awesome to be honest, and the first thing that popped into my mind was what y'all were saying. Stealing your enemies limbs and grafting them onto yourself. Have a Manticore's tail, a dragon's head, arms of a bear and legs of a wolf. Rawr?
Hmm? Kojima Productions guy? I'm interested even more, and as for dying. Maybe it works like demon's souls. You get reset back where you started unable to damage enemies and have to scavenge limbs off the beasts you killed before? I dunno.
Also, "a vast city landscape", does that mean it's open world? Because if so, I'm slightly less interested. I always get sidetracked when playing open world and eventually get bored with them.
Should be good though, peace.
This sounds really cool, I'm looking forward to more info and videos on this game.
my god this guy has a fu*ked up twisted mind!
right up my alley!!!!!!!!!
the king of horror games is back!
