Okay, so he lied.
But so what? This game looks absolutely mind-blowing! Sony just closed their E3 press conference with a special look at Eat Sleep Play's new project… Twisted Metal . Studio founders David Jaffe and Scott Campbell accompanied an actual ice cream truck on stage to deliver the good news, just after a wicked video led us in the correct direction. They then cued up some multiplayer gameplay, which just looks downright sick ; there are helicopters that can be used to blow sh** up or pick up friendly Faction members, the environment seems to be entirely destructible, and the action appears to be blazing fast and satisfying. But we have far more information than what you may have seen in that presentation; in fact, we have way more than just about anyone in the industry right now. Why? Because we knew this was coming. This, my friends, is our secret PSXE exclusive and as a pay-off, the guys mentioned here rewarded us for our silence.
That's right. In just a few minutes, our exclusive interview with Dave Jaffe and Scott Campbell, where they dish on a ton of info nobody in the E3 audience has been privy to, will be live.

Good job Ben, you surprised the hell out of me.
After I thought about it last week, TM was #10 in what I thought would be the game in question. I must say that the trailer and the gameplay that I saw looked impressive.
I can't wait for the finished product.
Good to know that Twisted Metal:Head On, Extra Twisted Edition secret came true.
While the visuals didn't impress me too much the gameplay looked real fun and true to it's form.
Ben Dutka, I gotta give it to ya, holding this one in all this time. That is (I would think) a tough secret to keep! Ya had to have told somebody… grandma or somebody!
When I first encountered PlayStation, the first two games I ever saw were Resident evil, and Twisted metal 2… after that I HAD to own!
A lotta people are saying Nintendo had a good show… I guess, If you like to rehash old characters over and over and over and over again. And HOW MANY DIFFRENT DS's are they gonna put out!?! Really!?
Nintendo's press confrence felt like it should have been on during Sat. morning cartoons. Zelda… Mario…AGAIN!? I'm 32… I'm DONE w/ them.
M$ shows 2 exclusives and call of duty for the first 10 min then shows natal or whatever… LAME. Talk about accuracy… Didn't look that true to me!!! The Move looks like a winner in comparison to what either else hat to offer. (It's accuracy.) M$ Press…EPIC FAIL…IMO.
All sony had to do was have "Kein Butler" come out & point a finger at a couple of people to claim this one… and yet they showed SO MUCH MORE! Sony owned E32010… And that last part…I definitely didn't see coming! No thanks to you Ben! Good job bud!
*squeal like a spoil rich girl
Ben Bravo for keeping this a secret, man that must of been hard.
My husband is going to S**t when I get home and tell him he loved the first twisted metal games, me not my thing but hey I am willing to try anything new if it means I can kill clowns. I hate clowns.
They teased us 2 years ago with the mushroom cloud pic and finally they unleashed the sweet tooth! HELL YA TM!!!!
this E3 has been a real disappointment for me.
i was right, sony and M$ spent most of their pressers talking about their motion controls, and 3D gaming.
im so disappointed, last year both announced so many new exclusives and a few shock titles, this year we have squat.
again the industry hypes up something as the second coming, and it fails to deliver!
the only 3 announcements that have come out of the last 3 days that were half decent were cryteks 360 exclusive, portal 2 and TM.
only one i could call a massive shock is portal coming to E3.
as soon as that voice came up i went wait a minute, that sounds familiar.
than i had to rub my eyes 3 times. hmmmmm weried i could swear thats gabe newell.
HOLY SH*T IT IS GABE WHAT THE F*CK IS HE DOING HERE!!!!!!!!!!
that was a massive shock for me, i really could not believe my eyes!
but they kinda spoiled the surprise because as soon as he walked out they had portal 2 on the screens, they should of milked it more.
because as soon as he walked out, and it finally sunk in it was him the first thing that came to my mind was half life 2 epp 3.
if they kept the screens blank, and waited till gabe announced portal 2 than it would of held up the suspense longer.
i love gabe hes got a great sense of humor, same with kev i had to piss my self laughing when he finished his rant.
wonder if will be getting left 4 dead 2 now?
hey, i can dream cant i?
Sony was onstage for about 2 hours and spent at least an hour talking about PS3 exclusive titles and content. They talked 3D and PSP and PlayStation Plus as well as Move. Their Keynote led with 3D and Move, but games had the central place at the table.
Microsoft is off in some weird lala land where Kinect is a unique and innovative product and where people want to use their game console instead of their phone or cable TV. I love that Microsoft has paid for a timed exclusivity with CoD maps on XBL, one genre. Sony's exclusive content (which they do not appear to have paid for) is multi-genre. MS is betting the farm on Kinect being somehow more revolutionary than the PSEye and on Shooters (well CoD in particular) being the industry driver for the next 3 years. Oops.
I think Sony came out of this year's E3 very well – compared to MS. I haven't read up on Nintendo's Keynote yet, but it appears to have been far better than last year – which wouldn't be difficult.
they spent their whole time talking about move games, just like M$ did talking about kinect games.
im really disappointed, i was expecting a in flush of new games AAA blockbuster games like last year.
i thought E3 was suppose to be the hardcore game convention, not casual central.
if kids games are your thing, than this years E3 was a wet dream.
if hardcore games are your thing than this years E3 was a bore fest nightmare!
especially after sony hyping E3 to the heavens, as usual!
ninty did a sh*t load better this year, in fact there best yet!
diddy kong makes a return, goldeneye remake for the wii, new zelda game.
sure there all old games making a return, nothing new.
BUT who dont want them some diddy kong!!!!!!!!!!
nintendo was better. they showed exclusive games, not exclusive content. and the detailed description of the 3ds. the ps3 conference had better games for the ps3 and the move with comedy sketches. no time to showcase dc universe, last guardian, white knight chronicles, or anything except gt5, killzone 3, and a few others? in responce to the administrator, i'm aware the wii is the least powerful of consoles. saying that, nintendo still bested the ps3 and xbox. if nintendo push the 3ds back after or shortly after e3 2011, then hint at the rumored wii hd (whatever that is), i don't think seeing it in hd will help that console. or the wii 2, and they go into huge detail on it and the 3ds with exclusive games to demo and play? then they may just have bested the e3 yet again. even though my current wii still sits on the shelf. what say you?
I say for someone who claims not to be a Nintendo fan, you get excited about a lot of nothing and try to promote it at a PlayStation-oriented website.
So I say knock it off.
I watched parts of the Nintendo presser there was nothing mind blowing awesome, and when G4 went back to their three person crew (Blair,Kristen and Patrick) and seeing how blown away they was I was like am I missing something? I guess Zelda is ok but for me I'm not going to trade in my PS3 for a Wii so I can play Zelda, another all Mario characters sports game and Kirby.
Nintendo was aggressive but when you look at what they offer you gotta say really? An update version of "Golden Eye" with the current James Bond, as good "Epic Mickey" look I don't think that they can't touch what Sony did yesterday.
Finally did anyone else catch Reggie Fils-Aime claim that Wii owners are more active than the other two consoles?(I'm guessing he's counting people raiding the virtual console)
@marcusf, I say SORRY!!! But… Nintendo's presser was LAME. They did NOTHING to impress me.
Mario & Zelda we're cool when I was 10… 11, 12. When I was 18 I saw PlayStation and never looked back. Sorry… Exclusive kids games aren't my cup of tea. If they are your kind of games, then I can understand why you would think that way. I know people in their 50's that can't wait for the next Zelda. But you would HAVE to be into those games to think Nintendo came out on top. I'm not & I definitely Don't! Sony OWNED period.
BTW, How many different Ds's do they have now?
Enough's enough already! Come up with somthing NEW!
When sweet tooths ice cream truck came on stage i was like, "HOLY SH*T! TWISTED METAL!! YEAH!" my draw dropped instantly. xD
As soon as the cab driver in the trailer dropped the cigar, I turned to my wife and said – it's Twisted Metal…oh yeah baby…
well i always knew it was twisted metal ben. you were always a little to coy when we brought it up!
no, i will not. btw, is this because of twisted metal? xbox and the ps3 were about the same, except yhat i'm more of a fan of the move over the kinnect. the games they showed at both were pretty predictable. ok, isn't twisted metal as old as the 1st final fantasy game on ps1? and nintendo only shows there exclusives games and announced a (maybe) killer handheld that can or may kill the psp or psp go? there gaming specs alone is better. oh, i'm not done. if the ps3 only showed there exclusive games and announced a ps4 or a psp2 or something WAY bigger, then yes, the ps3 could have won. by the way, the ps3 online plus was pretty much a "no suprise", take away killzone 3 (xbox's gears), gt5 (xbox's forza), and a few comedy sketches, and there both identical. ok, you've heard the phrase (especially from sony), the 1st and 3rd, 1st party exclusives are the best? that's all they showed. THEN, they announce a handheld that appears to not only bested the current psp, but THERE OWN SYSTEM and or console (especially in just the looks graphically)? and they took about 30 minutes in detail to describe it?! i kinda think the 3ds is suspect. but admin, no disrespect, but the psp is just a portable ps1. allll of the hype surounding the release the new psp and it turned out to be the exact same thing but smaller and just do downloads only? was a complete let down. honestly, i think they can one up them with a new system, but not by much. why, because they don't think the average consumer will be willing to pay for that kind of quality yet. you or someone else said, at 600 dollors for a ps3 back then, they couldn't even give it away. i know who won this year, we'll see who wins next year. wht say you?
