Remember that release date we needed? The one that we've been pining for ever since we heard of the recent delay? It's here.
After showing an absolutely mind-blowing trailer for Gran Turismo 5 , showcasing all the amazing work Kazunori Yamauchi and Polyphony Digital has put into this impending masterpiece, it was revealed that the new driving simulator would launch on November 2. It's a perfect time, as it lands in a prime spot to take advantage of the holiday season, and it's actually amusing that GameStop had the correct release date. The video just proves once again how far Polyphony and Co. always push the PlayStation platform, and although I'm personally not the biggest fan of NASCAR, the addition makes plenty of sense. And we just can't wait to take it for a spin; we're hoping they'll give us a demo some time before the game's launch. Also, remember that with the inclusion of multiplayer, 3D, and a new damage model, this will be very much unlike any GT experience you may have had in the past. And in the end, we should get the single most realistic and authentic racing video game ever made. It' a super-high expectation but at this point, what else can we think?
GT5 should once again redefine the nature of virtual racing and if it doesn't, I'll eat every article of my wardrobe.
Cool new avatar Snake.
November 2nd. Thank God that's 27 days away from my 18th wedding anniversary.
My wife would kill me.
The funniest moment ins the trailer for GT5 was when they were showing scene after scene of photo-realistic racing and I turned to my wife and said "That looks like the Top Gear Test track, is looks real." Just as she was agreeing with me, the caption appeared confirming it was the Top Gear test track! LOL!
That's what set's GT5 apart. The race tracks look *real*. Real enough to be recognized. Just to make all you married gamers jealous. My wife and I looked at eachother ans said in unison – we need two copies!

Lucky
Energetic wife is the best kind of wife, specially if she's also a gamer.
You're right, the graphics in this game are so tight

This has been an "awesome news" overload for me. I don't think I'll make it through the next two most recent articles. Sounds like it has been a good E3 show for Sony. Thanks for the updates guys.
Also I guessed November on the pole regarding GT5!

Ben…what do you have against NASCAR?…Nascar is the only reason why I am really interested in this game besides the millions of cars, PS3 exlcusion factor, great graphics, awesome gamemplay (lol)…but seriously, I really do want to try the NASCAR portion out more than anything

Great, I was all hyped up over GT5, actually still am, but now I kinda want it to fail, just to see footage of you doing that.
Sony is banking on the experience of GT5 in 3D with new 3-D Bravia HDTV's this holiday season. Oh…I forgot about the PlayStation Move controllers too…
I would LOVE that, but sadly, I'm not upgrading my 1 year old Bravia anytime soon.
GT5 looks SICK. A MUST for any collection.
No, Sony has a multi-layered strategy.
PS3 drives BluRay, it drives HDTV, it drives 3D TV and it drives the PSN. Of course it also drives the gaming industry to a decent extent too. One device pushes home video, high definition TV, 3D TV, digital downloadable content, and online services. All that and each product is available through sony, a vertically integrated product line based on the PS3.
And by the way, just for the hell of it, the PSP is a satellite device from the PS3, allowing game, video, music and other content to be used on the move extending the reach of the PSN even further.
Does Sony want GT5 in 3D to be a 'killer app'? Sure. But the want GT5 to be a 'killer app' on the PS3 even more. GT5 should help sell consoles now, and then 3D TVs int eh future. Sony doesn't believe that 3D will suddenly sell as well as mainstream HDTVs do, they simply want to jump start the market by providing content. If 3D does take off, Sony will be in the lead position for provision of content and understanding it's creation.
Ten days before I turn twenty. Funnily enough, I bought my car on Nov. 2 last year, this time I get GT5, DAMN, now that's a damn good pair of presents to myself. I have no words to how psyched I am. Just… WOOSAH.
As far as redefining the racing sim genre, it will, no bloody fear, but I kinda hope it doesn't because I want to see Ben eat his clothes. I'll even have some tomato sauce on hand. KIDDING!
Peace.
yes i can finally get excited for this again.
doing that track day on the weekend really psyched me up for this.
though they still have not released a European date.
now all i need to do is find some cash for a decent racing wheel.
My life is almost complete.
YESS FINALLY! CANT WAIT TO DRIVE A 94 Legacy SS and 99 Civic SiR!!!

Exactly when I thought it would finally come out, right at the xmas rush so no real surprise here. Sure it looks good but after all this time it's to be expected.
