After telling us the PlayStation 3 has hit 35 million consoles sold worldwide, and reminding us that 3,400 movies and 20,000 TV episodes exist on the PlayStation Network, Sony moved into the PlayStation Move presentation.
Sony boss Peter Dille spoke about the new motion-sensing technology; this innovative mechanic unveiled at GDC is really primed to make big strides for the industry. It's not about just being entertained or "surrounded," it's about literally becoming part of the game. And they say the difference between Move and other motion-sensing systems lies in the overall realism: it has the ability to replicate most any motion with pinpoint accuracy and furthermore, the potential is almost limitless. In addition to creating plenty of family-oriented games but at the same time, they also intend to create new experiences designed to cater to the hardcore gamer. They say Move is special, with the combination of the PlayStation Eye and unique wand controller, which makes the entire interactive adventure "both challenging and rewarding." During the show, they also went and showed off some new Move projects, many of which look awfully impressive. We'll be updating with relevant videos for all our Sony E3 press conference coverage as soon as the footage becomes available, so stay tuned.
Move definitely appears to be a step in the right direction concerning new technologies, and we're seeing plenty of new stuff in terms of capability. Really, we're sitting here saying, "damn, that's pretty effing cool .
Damn the games on there are amazing.
Watching it, Ben. Move looks awesome. Sorcery looked really good and responsive to his movements. Damn this country's net and lag though.
Doing great so far with the move, especially with the live demos. Killzone 3 is gonna be nuts, kinda too bad it's in 2011 though.
Yes, but anything earlier would've meant something very buggy and/or half-finished. So I hope Guerrilla Games, and Sucker Punch with InFamous 2, takes their sweet time.
idk…. some of it seems cool, but i'm still not impressed
My interest level in the Move has definitely increased. Sony has definitely made an effort to please both the casual and core gamer crowds, and I can't wait to see how the Move handles shooters. It may instill my interest in the FPS genre as well.
to be perfectly honest, the controller looks pretty effing cool anyway. and the tech looks good, so im looking hopeful.
although i do understand the dildo jokes.
Hero's on the Move anyone?
Hell yes Mcfly!
That's the game that's got me really interested in this (and Sorcery)
move is what i expected with the wii. when nintendo started talkin motion controls i honestly expected more. when i saw what it actually was, i was very let down and did not want it. now that move is comin and is more precise i have that excitment i had before wii. i really want to see what they will do with it, although i may have to rearrange my room to make room for me to move around in front of my ps3.
OMG Kevin Butler is a Legend!
I admit i Woo'ed when he walked on xD

Ya Kevin FTW!!!!!!
I think I might be getting Move just 'cause he says so
Weird I know
Pretty boring E3 so far. Motion gaming is just a fad. Sony hasn't announced anything we didn't already know. Move seems to definitely be better than Kinect, but come on now, real hardcore gamers won't care about motion gaming. Sony spent like 45 mins on Move…BORING!
I didn't find it boring but then I like to try new experiences so I was really looking forward to these details and thinking about how my gaming experiences are going to be fun with PS Move.
WOW, talk about games, games and more games.
20 Move (Movable?) titles
70 PSP titles by December
Time Crisis
God of War
LBP2
and more to come….Going well. Not too much focus on non-gaming crapolla.
Move's price will certainly put some pressure on Microsoft. As will the early delivery date.

Sorcery looked cool, but the PGA game had some noticeable lag. Still not that impressed with Move and motion gaming in general.
Dead Space extraction? Wow.
I know exclusive too!
actually its a wii game that will now be on ps3.
yeah but I didn't see that coming at all.
yeah, just pointing out its not exclusive, I'm with ya world, big shocker.
Portal 2 for the PS3 some exciting news!
I guess money talks and Sony bought out Valve…lol
Sony finally getting love from the developers that doubted it at first.
Hard to say what happened there, Ol Gable looked as beaten down as Kojima did last year for the Rising announcement. But I give him credit for showing up and telling his jokes in a decent manner.
It'll come out for the other console
Notice how they never said "exclusively for ps3."
Don't care their games either way
World I agree – coming out and making jokes about yourself and pretty much saying you were completely wrong is tough…so I give him a little props for coming out and puting his foot in his mouth instead of a piece of cake.
Interesting, Home is down for maintenance. I wonder whether they are adding something E3 related.
ROTFLMAO! Gabe Newel just took the stage and made a funny – and apologized.
Sony is doing exclusive content with lots of publishers in lots of genre instead of trying for a multi-year single genre/publisher deal. Nice strategy.
PlayStation Plus sounds like it is exactly what we all said it would be. Extra content and services for a fee, existing services remain free. Basically it's an enhanced Qore. Nice.
Jaffe is a liar!
Ya LRH that was my surprise thing
That was sick!
I also had a feeling he was lying, you could tell Twisted Metal was destined for the ps3
So is Gabe Newell! But you gotta lie to try and keep your secrets lol! Too bad there was no mention of The Last Guardian though!
Probably at the Tokyo Game Show
I really wanted to see at least a short trailer though…
Is Dead Space Extraction on the PSP ? Wasn't that out earlier in the year or was it the one on the Wii ?
Wii
I gotta say I can't wait to play sorcery, dark dungeony spell casting fun! Man I have been excited for move for a year now and this year's e3 has only amped me up to another level.
I've just seen the gun attachment and all I can say is: Move = Mine!
Heroes on the MOVE! FTW
im really impressed with some of the titles coming out for move, shame its so god dam expensive!
sorry but 190 AUD for a controller is WAY to much.
OHMAHGOD!
This just s#!ts all over the 360's Kinect crap. Watched the Move's SOCOM demo, now that's accurate!
monkeyhammer,
I like your Kitty Melonhead.
He's trying to keep the "grapes of wrath" from raining down on his head, isn't he?
