Nobody wants to buy unless they can try!
The PlayStation Move won't be on store shelves until the fall, but if you happen to reside in Los Angeles, you'll get your chance to sample Sony's new motion-sensing technology well before most anyone else outside the industry. On Tuesday, June 15, between 6 and 9 p.m., Sony will bring Move to three different Best Buy locations in the LA area; games on hand with which to experiment include Start the Party and Sports Champions , both of which should be up for sale when Move releases later in the year. Oh, and as a little bonus, if you're one of the first 125 attendees at any of the three locations, you'll get a $5 Subway Card, which – as they tell you – is just about right for one of those tasty $5 foot-longs. We haven't seen or tried Move yet so you'll be a step ahead of us, and in fact, ahead of many game journalists, so there's a little feather in your cap. Of course, we fully expect the Move to be a major part of Sony's E3 presentation next week (along with 3D), and we have very high hopes for this technology. That EyePet looks sorta cool, doesn't it?
For the exact locations, visit the PlayStation Blog , and while you're there, check out some of the new PSN additions, including Tales from Space: About a Blob and Tehra Dark Warrior .
Ben, no doubt it will be interesting to see how the Move is intended to Move us… but, as many have expressed, the software will be the judge of whether or not the Move will be a worth while investment.
Taking on Nintendo is no easy task, muscling your way into the "casual" gaming market is risky if you do not have the formula just right for these types of games. I assume Sony is looking at various strategies at multiple levels.
Firstly, they may feel that there are people who may leave the Wii and join the Playstation camp if they feel they can still play casual games (as they did on their Wii), and also obtain the advantage of investing in an HD blu-ray player, not to mention the vast library of decent PS3 games to boost.
Secondly, Wii owners who may want to actually upgrade to an HD entertainment console, and may now feel that the PS3 will cater to their social and casual gaming needs, whilst opening up the possibility of "HD" 3D gaming to boot.
All in all, I think Sony wants to win of some in the Nintendo camp, and also, go some ways in protecting their own market by making sure that current PS3 owners actually have "casual" games too, that are similar to the Wii's, so that households don't end up buying the Wii (or new Wii hardware) to have the "casual gaming experience".
Rather keep them on your hardware and your brand, than let the lambs be tempted to move across or experience the other patch of green grass…

I wish I lived in L.A.
Me 2
OMG i wish i was in LA but i still do not have a ps3 but i'm gonna get it next week
I had a ps3 but I got YLOD after 2 years in a half and i'm finally getting a new slim on my birthday ^_^(June 20th)
There's another updated slim model CECH-2501x in production…but nobody knows what the differences are from the current CECH-2101x (the 45nm RSX one), but it should be out in 3 mos. or so.
I was about to buy another new slim PS3, but decided to wait and see what this newer model is.

Damn, wish I knew earlier, could made for another cool road trip.
Hell, if I were to leave now, my Harley still wouldn't reach LA before Friday or Saturday
i was at sonystyle today getting a demo of their 3D TVs and the guy told me move is getting a demonstration here soon too.
would not tell me when, but as soon as it comes in there sending out emails to their subscribers.
only bad thing is you have to book a appointment you cant just rock up to the store.
Lucky L.A.ers. I'm still excited for move and can't wait to get my hands on some hard core move games.
Okay so here's the chance, if any lives in LA, go there try it out and then do a user review of it.
You lucky american bast*rds with your trying Move early and your free subway foot longs.

I'm really excited about move but i don't know why i feel that natal is better than move
No buttons is bad. If I wanted to wiggle around frantically like an epileptic on meth I'd go to a club and dance.
"What is this, third grade? Pyew…pyew pyew pyew."
i watched this video it was funny i didn't knew that he was talking about natal than i recognized this
@Prince,
Because you've sipped the M$ft Kool-Aid!
M$ft has perfected the ability to make sheeple think M$ft has created something original (PS Eyetoy and PS3 Eye predate Natal) when it really didn't, as well as the ability to convince the sheeple that its products are the best.
correction: after watching some videos move kicks natal's ass
LOL. I should've read this post first. 😉
