It fooled a lot of people due to its high production value but as Sony representative Al de Leon confirmed to GamesRadar , what you see here "isn't from SCE (Sony Computer Entertainment)."
Still, it's worth a look. This is actually the second of two apparently fake PlayStation 4 teaser videos (scroll down at the previous link to view the first), and they're both quite interesting. We're not entirely sure what's happening in the trailer below but it obviously has something to do with 3D, and in fact, PS4 may be an allusion to the combination of their new PlayStation Move and 3D technologies. Either way, it's one of those things that if it showed up on TV as a commercial, you'd probably watch it.
Sony has always said the PS3 would have a ten-year lifespan, as its predecessor did. But remember, they released the PS3 about six years into the PS2's lifespan – and of course, the PS2 continued on – and we are currently in the PS3's fourth year. Therefore, it wouldn't be entirely out of the realm of possibility to hear whispers of the PS4 right now…
Why would Sony or MS announce a new system right now. The current gen still isn't selling as good as the past ones and both systems have been out for quit sometime. I myself could afford another system but care not to buy one anytime soon as I still don't feel like this generation is over.
If either company came out with a system in less than 4 years I might not be there at launch for the first time.
Because they aren't announcing a new system they are stating that a new system is in the works. I don't doubt the PS4 won't be for some time but I am having difficulty believing this commercial is a fake.
Yeah I already watched it and I know it can't be the real thing, because it's too soon for PS4, but nice video nonetheless.
lol i thought it was real.
sony have done allot of those types of videos before, anyone remember the playstation 6 video?
or the german army ps3 videos, it was a video cant remember specifics but it had German soldiers wounded on beds in surgery.
what that has to do with the ps3 i have no idea!!!
it would of been a great advertisement though!
sony have always said ps3 does everything so in a way there hinting we dont need a ps4, since ps3 does do everything.
even removing features WE PAID FOR!!!!!
no, i will not let it go, i will NEVER! forgive them.
Can't watch it, as always, maybe tomorrow I be in the city with my sister's internet, on MY computer. She's had it for two years now. HAHA.
Anyway, as far as the PS4, ray tracing in real time. Everything that the PS3 has, plus more memory, backwards compatability for EVERYTHING, a more powerful Cell (they can't just throw it away after they spent so much time developing it.), and a few other things that I'm too tired to think of right now.
As for release schedule? Microsoft came out last year some time and said the 360 will have a 10-year lifecycle. I called bs then, and I do so again now. The Pheon-X will release late 2011 – mid 2012, with the PS4 being a mid-life console for it, being released in 2014. It only makes sense, there being a potential three year gap between them, thus causing consumers to get antsy about wanting something new. Sony releases a new beast, and the Box falls to the wayside, thus causing M$ to either bow out, or rush a new console to compete. Maybe I'm overthinking all of this, but that would own.
Peace.
It shouldn't matter as much as we think on how high the production value seem to be because as people have mentioned before, the ps9 commercial was hardcore and professional-like too.
What I'm really curious about is that the actors in these PS4 teasers really look like actual professional actors. They both seem familiar to me. The last time I check, every professional actors gets paid a lot, even a small footage like this.

I know the PS9 commercial looked like it had high production value as well, but it is mostly done w. CGI and required very little actual filming. This commercial would take more skill on the psychical end of the scale. And as for the talent they used, they are recognizable which would require a good amount of money and ontop of which they would have to pay them extra to keep their mouths shut.
If anyone is coming with a new system announcement its Nintendo, because everyone knows that they are going HD plus that 3ds thing is going to be revealed etc.. Anyways that Ps9 commercial was so futuristic at the time lol
Here's a 'P4' puzzle for you:

…not that people are expected to get it. 🙂
i could wait till 2020 for PS4 thats how much i love my PS3 -_-
a real trailer from sony wouldn't say "now testing" at the end of it.
That's my issue w/ the video…it looks like that "PS4 NOW TESTING" may have just been added to a totally unrelated video for something else.
