Everyone is expecting a finalized release date for Gran Turismo 5 to be announced at E3 and in the meantime, how's about some gameplay?
The video below shows off a lengthy gameplay session and while you'll be yelling at some dope to "get out of the friggin way" in the first minute, things kick off pretty quickly. The menus are slick and engaging and another interesting tidbit to note is that AI drivers now have names, which is clearly another detail designed to enhance the overall realism and authenticity of the game. As for the actual driving, everything appears to be fluid and fast and while the cockpit view found in Need for Speed: SHIFT was great, this is whole different thing. The sound sort of sucks and the driver isn't exactly an expert, but you really do get an idea of how the final product will feel.
There are plenty of reasons to be excited for GT5 and although we're really hoping the addition of 3D wasn't the cause for the game's long delay (and we doubt it could be), such new features should be appreciated by the fans. There's little doubt that the newest GT will indeed be the best and every time we see new footage like this, we get a touch more antsy…

Really? When I'm looking at the screen/TV, I don't see my DFGT wheel at all. Which is why a lot of people probably said the LED shift indicator feature thing on the new G27 is useless. I guess it depends on how you set it up.

Colors are always so beautiful on PS3 games.
This video was nearly analyzed to death by GTP forumers.
Indeed it was.
The shadowing and lighting effects inside the cockpit look way improved. Looks really great. I'm starting to get stoked about GT again…
I hope they can smooth out some of those shadows though on the dash. they looked kinda choppy like the shadows in most multiplatform games.
lol everytime i see your avatar, at first glance it always looks like Issac's mask from Dead Space then i realize its a Sax.
That's weird…I had to stare at my avatar for a minute before I could see what you meant. like those old stereoscopic posters that were popular in the early 90's.
I'm also really curious as to what the trophies will be…
my guess is that they're going to be really tough… Im not basing that off any facts, just a hunch.
I hope most just require alot of playing.
But then… I want trophies for those who do the endurance races in A-Spec.
I am prepared to spend 500 hours on this game, as I do with all Gran Turismo's.
Come on and blow me away E3!
Looks absolutely gorgeous. Can't wait for this game. I been waiting ever since I learned the Top Gear track was in it but I really hope they have both the reasonably priced cars to go with it. Come on E3…
