GameStop’s PS3 And Wii Promotions

Want an excuse to pick up a PS3 or a Wii? Well, we just heard that hardware and software sales are down in Japan this month , so GameStop figured you might need some incentive.

The first promotion concerns the PS3: you get $100 off the 60GB model if you trade in a PS2, an extra Sony-branded DS controller, and a memory card. Of course, everything has to be functional and have Sony's name on it, and all the cables the PS2 normally comes with (A/V and power), must be included. Considering how much that stuff is usually worth, this isn't a bad deal.

For those of you looking to nab a Wii, you can get $50 off the purchase if you trade in a GameCube – again, regular cables and controller included – and that's it. Not bad at all. Oh, and if you're still pondering a DS purchase, you can get $50 off that purchase if you're willing to trade in the ol' GBA SP. We'll assume this promotion includes the DS Lites, but no promises.

See? You have no good reason to pass up a great next-gen hardware purchase this month. Ignore those Christmas bills…you've got a good 11 months to pay them off.
