What if you could get a closer look at Final Fantasy XIII in a few months time? Would you be excited? Yeah, you know you would.
As it turns out, the Japanese publication Dengeki has reported that Square-Enix is planning to offer a playable demo of their first next-gen FF at E3 this year. Now, as we all know, the biggest gaming show of the year has been significantly altered, so we're not sure if this news is valid yet. Perhaps it's more likely they'll hold off on releasing the demo to the hungry gaming public until the Tokyo Games Show in September. But there's another option presented by the PlayStation Store, which would be to distribute the demo online…and if they chose to do that, everything might crash immediately. Remember when about seven gajillion people signed on to download that free Gran Turismo HD Concept demo?
Either way, the rumor is very big. So big, in fact, it's bound to get a lot of attention, which means Square-Enix might be coerced into a position to reply. Therefore, perhaps we'll know the truth next week…
