If you've always had a thing for the "Aliens" franchise, be it movie or video game, you'll definitely want to go on the rampage this summer.
According to GameSpot , Team17 has announced that Alien Breed: Impact will finally come to the PlayStation 3 and PC this summer, after debuting last year on Xbox Live Arcade. The good news is that this fresh version will boast a host of upgrades, which includes deeper customization and improved cooperative play. Players will also be able to upgrade their weapons with the cash they get from looting corpses and lockers, so there's plenty of incentive to lay waste to huge hordes of invading offenders. If you're not quite familiar, the Alien Breed series actually began way back in 1991 on the Amiga; in those days, it was a top-down action title, which seemed to go over well with gamers of the time. Afterwards, Team17 turned it into a first-person shooter and then shifted their focus to the popular – yet very different – Worms franchise. But they just couldn't leave those aliens alone and although we're not talking about a big-budget $60 blockbuster, Impact should prove to be a solid addition to the PlayStation Network and Steam.
Come to think of it, we haven't seen a must-download PSN title for a few months now; we're starting to feel a bit of a drought. I think we need thatgamecompany to unveil their project soon…

It's just really funny to me that these games come out on the 360 and then get polished with a bunch of enhancements thrown in for the PS3.
Do these devs know that xbots will buy junk as long as they get it first?
I think it also has to do with the fact that a majority of PS3 gamers expect more with the PS3 due to actual machine and Blu Ray.
It's not any of the little skirmishes MS wins that actually counts,
It's all those "final" over-powering "big boss" battles that the PS3 annihilates them with, that DOES!
Kaboom to the power of KABOOM
I thought there was a certain policy about ports that comes to PS3 or the PSN after it is released for the Xbox360. If I remember correctly the policy was that you had to add more content than its original for the XBOX360 or else Sony wont autherize the port.
I loved that game on my Amiga 🙂 brilliant news.
This is good news. I'll be getting this as soon as it comes out. I'll be getting Soldner-X2 tomorrow. I wish the trend of stuff like this coming out on PSN continues. I'm tired of xbl getting all the cool shmups.
*sigh*
I'm not a huge fan, but there are Shmups in the works for PSN.
"Sony Online Entertainment recently signed a deal with Rockin' Android to bring three shmups (shoot 'em ups) exclusively to the PlayStation Network: Gundemonium Recollection, GundeadGline and Hitogata Happa."

I heard about that and that made me happy. There are a few shmups on PSN but just not the amount that would make me happier.
I really wouldn't mind if Death Smiles came to PSN. Hell I would love it if Einhander was put on PSN. I'm still waiting for Komami to put something out about the next Gradius. Gradius V was so much fun.
So many many shmups, so little time.

ittsy860860 has been around far too often lately, must be a pain for Ben and Arnold 🙁
Anyways, not interested in games made for the xbox and altered for the PS3. For the most part at least. If Sony continues to come out with great exclusives, I will have no problem playing exclusively exclusives =)
He Ben, give Soldner X 2 a try. One of the best PSN-buys for months. Looks terrific, plays very good. IGN gave it in review 8.5 so thats says enough.
I sampled the 360 AB demo when it came out & it was a lot of fun.
So here's to the PS3 version getting mucho bonuses!
i hope its got nothing to do with that series.
i had such high hopes for alien Vs predator and oh boy did it stink big time!!! ive made a long life vowel to never buy another alien branded game ever again.
ill have to live with the classic for all my alien memories.
