Koei Delays PS3 Games Until Summer

Yesterday, we reported that Koei would be bringing two PS3 games to the UK this summer. Now, it turns out that announcement was a preview of things to come for the U.S.

Hot on the heels of that report, Koei confirmed they'd be delaying those same two games – Fatal Inertia and Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War – for the U.S. Originally slated for a March release in Europe (for the PS3 launch) and an April release in the U.S., the two titles are now set for summer, same as their UK counterparts.

Fatal Inertia is the very first effort by Koei Canada, and the lead designer is Takazumi Tomoike, who is responsible for the popular Dynasty Warriors franchise. The the sci-fi battle-oriented racer should be one hell of an experience, even though we have to wait longer to find out for ourselves. Bladestorm is a medieval strategy/action game with a huge amount of scope and size, and if they need more time to get it right, so be it.

As for a reason behind the delays, Koei is on record as saying: "the development cycles have been extended simply because of all the things the developers want to do with the new hardware."
